Wonderfully maintained place to stay outside of the downtown Winona in a the countryside setting. Especially nice off-peak if you have the place all to yourself with another couple. The breakfast is not sumptuous, but that's OK with us.
Wonderfully clean and oh, so comfortable.
The owner, Ann opened the door and greeted me by name.
Local, delicious fare(hand rolled caramel candy)and baked goods also.
All you want or need is in the refrig, yogurt, juice, milk etc.
The granola was outstanding.
There are some townhouses as you look out to the bluffs, however they are also adorable and the grounds beautiful .
My daughter was in a barrel racing competition at The Mn. Equestrian Center which is 5 miles away.
7 years of comfort at the Village House Inn...And every stay is better than the last! My college buddies and I attend the Great River Shakespeare Festival and stay at the B & B. We love Anne, the location, and the comfort, spaciousness, and cleanliness of the house. The coffee and breakfast goodies are great on the patio in the morning, and we've used the grill in the past and the huge dining table in the evening. I definitely recommend the Village House Inn!
The Village House Inn was a delightful surprise in Winona as it is a beautifully restored brick home with comfortable updated furnishings. My party stayed on the second floor occupying the three bedrooms upstairs and the accommodations were outstanding! The sparkling clean, fresh plump pillows, sheets and bed linens were well coordinated and the individual bathrooms were all well appointed. The serve yourself breakfast had fresh pastries from Boudin, the top rated Trip Advisor restaurant in Winona. The delightful owner, Anne, met us at check in and had a friendly personal welcome to us written on the chalkboard outside. This B&B owner maintains close personal attention to details which have such a positive impact on a B&B experience. It is the best B&B I've ever stayed in!!!!
Great place to stay. Amazingly clean. Used the outdoor grill and made planked salmon. Plenty of space for our group of 6 at the dining room table. Air conditioning was wonderful. Traffic noise during rush hour on SE side. Price was agreeable.
I'm an early riser and used the Kerurig coffee maker and had a piece of coffee cake each morning. Talked with other early risers staying there.
Had a very nice stay at the Village House, just what we were looking for! Stayed in Winona with friends and visited some wineries in the area and went to the Great River Shakespeare Festival. It was nice to have "continental breakfast". Coffee was excellent and refrigerator was stocked with milk, juice and yogurt.
I was traveling through the area on a business trip and this Inn caught my eye. It looked like a quiet place to enjoy an evening and relax. I was welcomed by the caretaker and got to explore most of the Inn except for the one room already occupied by other guests. All of them were quite comfortable and well decorated. The bed was comfortable, the shower worked very well and I found the atmosphere to be quite relaxing. There are books and coffee makers scattered throughout the house and the breakfast offerings were right up my alley- simple and filling.
