We had a fantastic stay with Karen and Craig in their BEAUTIFUL bed and breakfast. Their hospitality was wonderful, and the accomodations are clean, comfortable, cozy and quiet. Our breakfast was SO delicious and we couldn't recommend it more highly. If you stay here, you will certainly come back!

Away for a short "girl's weekend", my friends and I enjoyed a most memorable bed and breakfast experience. The innkeepers, Craig and Karen, were warm and fun, and shared great conversation. The accommodations were charming, clean, and comfortable. It was one of the best B&B's I've stayed in; the breakfast was wonderful! The three little dogs were extremely well behaved and adorable. It was just great overall.

Windom park is a splendid old house, beautifully maintained and very clean. The hostess was gracious and helpful, arranging reservations at local restaurants. The little dogs were lovely, and the hostess asked us if we were "dog" people. If you don't want the dogs around she will keep them in the innkeeper's quarters. The food was excellent and there was wine and cheese as a bonus in the afternoon. Coffee and tea appeared outside our room one hour before breakfast.

The only unpleasant surprise: the house smelled pretty strongly of cigarette smoke. Though we never saw anyone smoke, the hostess and host evidently smoke in their own quarters and the odor fills the house. We stayed in the main house; there is a carriage house with guest quarters. That may be less smoky.

Room Tip: The carriage house may be less smoky.

This B&B is a lovely home with lots of interesting decor. The innkeeper(Karen) provided a great late afternoon wine, cheese and conversation time and visit with her dogs (little, not threatening at all, but a bit yippy until they settle down.) We had a very comfortable, well-appointed room and slept well. Our only complaint is with the clawfoot tub/shower. The shower curtain needs to have those magnetic weights to hold it to the tub so it doesn't blow inward, which leaves little room in the tub when you shower.
Karen served up a fabulous breakfast - fresh fruits, pear fritatta, sausage, even a small chocolate covered ice cream dessert. An hour prior to breakfast she delivered tea and coffee to our room. Although when we were there, I could tell she also has lovely gardens. A slight smell of cigarette smoke lingers in some areas of the house.

This was the best bed and breakfast we've ever stayed in- the location perfect, the food delicious and creatively presented, the suite totally charming and comfortable with many appointments to make the traveler feel pampered- and we did! The hosts were very gracious and helpful and we had great conversations with Karen who knows a lot about the history and geography of Winona. The rooms were all original detailing with charming private baths, fluffy beds , armoires and closets and lots of enclosed reading nooks-heaven! The house is handsome and beautifully appointed and spotlessly maintained. The tiny greeters can be seen from a behind a gate- adorable and friendly, well-behaved poochies!

Room Tip: Ask about Jamie's library if there are 3 or 4

The innkeeper arrived at our door with juice and coffee and her little dogs followed her into our room where our 2 year old granddaughter was standing. The dogs started jumping on Bella and my husband put his foot between the dogs and Bella and quickly picked her up. The innkeeper screeched at my husband to not kick her dogs. No one kicked her dogs and she shouldn't have brought them into our rooms. She was very rude!
