Great atmosphere, white table cloth, but you can definitely go casual. We always do, and so do others. Great seafood and steaks. Wife had the filet and loved it the first visit, got the prime rib on the second visit. She wasn't thrilled about the PR, but was OK with it. I always get the Veal Antonio, best meal I have ever eaten! Veal has some blended cheese baked on top, with lump crab on top. The flavor of this is unbelievable, every bite was scrumptious. You get salad and warm bread, and veggie on the side. Highly recommend.

Great get away from the Casino scene for a good dinner. Food and Service were excellent. Gives you that old school Biloxi feel.

Mary Mahoney's is a legendary restaurant in south Mississippi. Her rich history and hospitality has been enjoyed by thousands of prestigious diners. Our recent trip was a hiccup in this legend.

In fairness, we were dining late on a Saturday night, BUT … it was my husband's birthday and he craved a guaranteed great dinner.
I told the seating host and 2 waiters what we were celebrating. No reaction... We had to ask 3 times for one shot of scotch! After our late drink delivery, we asked for a short moment to consider the menu. Many minutes later, we flagged a server to find OUR server. Though our order was simple, the wait per course was lengthy, and service was uneven at best. Dinner took over 2 and 1/2 hours. And, while we didn't expect a marching band, an ice cream dollop or a simple well-wish would have been lovely and appropriate. Even the best have off nights, we know, but usually NOT Mary Mahoney's !!! We'll return, but NOT on a Saturday night. Respectfully submitted , Rita

Mary Mahoney's came highly recommended by a friend. With a recommendation and a fine dining menu (and price tag), we had high expectations. And we were sorely disappointed.

We had a reservation. We were seated. And we waited 15 minutes to be acknowledged by anyone except the young man who poured our water! Finally, the waiter from the next table walked by, we tapped his arm, he noticed that his table and others had been seated after us and were already eating salad, and he offered to take our order. Frankly, he - and the support wait staff (bus boy, beverage refill, etc.) - were very kind.

If you read the POOR reviews, there are several who had the same experience we did. This is not a fluke, this is a regular occurrence. Unfortunate.

The food was fine. Just fine. Grouper was good, crabmeat on top very good, and prime rib was adequate. But this was no $80 meal! Salad was pathetic. And for a "French" themed restaurant, the bread was embarrassing.

But, honestly, I cannot think of a single good reason to ever go here again. And I encourage you to skip it completely. If you are in the casinos, eat at one of the buffets - it will cost you less and the food will be better. Or, look for a chain restaurant. Your food will be as good, and you'll spend half as much.

Oh, and on the "back porch," half of the tables (the large ones) are the folding tables you buy at Sam's or Costco. It's as though they wanted to be upscale, but someone really had no clue how to do it. Completely disappointed.
