Description: This is 5-star dining at its very best in a pure, natural environment that simply cannot be matched. Watch the sun set across the bay, or the moon as it sails above the distant hills. On cooler nights, nestle in by the open fire with a glass of Marlborough's finest and a dining experience you will never forget. As we wish to ensure that dining in the Foredeck will be a sophisticated and romantic dining experience for you, we ask that young children not be in the restaurant after 6pm.

“Sunshine sparkling on still blue waters in Paradise, and food to match”
Reviewed 5 June 2014

My partner shouted me a day trip by helicopter to Bay of Many Coves (BOMC) for a special treat, including a three course meal with matching wine. I am very lucky. Check out the website on http://bayofmanycoves.co.nz. The day was idyllic, and we flew from Wellington over Cook Strait in calm conditions with 360 degree views of the South Coast and the Marlborough Sounds, landing on a tiny but perfectly dimentioned patch of grass where we were met by BOMC staff and escorted to the restaurant. We were looked after by a lovely waitress Sophie and had the restaurant all to ourselves. We sat like royalty looking over other visitors dining in the public cafe down by the jetty which is accessed by boat (or walkers from the Queen Charlotte Track some 2 hours up a steep hill). A dog called Merlot was chasing a tennis ball on the jetty and so were the local blue cod population when the ball fell into the water. It was a sight to see. Our menu had all the wonderful food choices, fresh tuna sashimi, venison, fresh John Dory fish of the day, and then there was dessert. My favourite was the Callebaut chocolate dessert. I didn't want to leave, and I really really enjoyed the quality and presentation of the food. This is not a cheap day out but as a special treat it is value for money. We didn't stay - returning 3 hours later, but the resort has accomodation for about 35 and can house 50 in the restaurant. It is a very high quality venue.

“Perfect getaway”
Reviewed 17 December 2013

We stayed at Bay of Many Coves after walking the Queen Charlotte Track and as part of our honeymoon. It was such a lovely place - really special part of New Zealand and well designed rooms that provided privacy and comfort. The food and staff were great (we did the degustation and wine match) and nothing was too much trouble. Facilities of hot tub, pool and spa and on-site beauty therapist and massage were fantastic - you pay a premium but it is a premium experience that we will remember for many years to come.
