If you can get to Clarksdale, MS, you need to spend time cruising the entire town's rich assortment of southern blues history attractions. Included are; the Hambone Gallery, the Rock & Blues Museum, Ground Zero (Morgan Freeman's joint), Hopson Plantation, and a bunch of other places that, together, make for an incredible experience. If you're lucky, you'll get a chance to chat with either Dixie or Debby at Hambone, and Marc at the Museum. They can tell stories about Clarksdale that will make your time irrelevant. Hopson has to be seen, understood, and photographed --- and then you'll have the challenge of trying to explain it to your friends as a real experience. One real good thing about Clarksdale's location is that it's between Memphis and Baton Rouge on US 61 (the Blues Highway). If you've got the time to experience all three, and their exceptional musical cultures, you'll never be the same.
