Recently while in Columbus, MS on a one night stay; we decided to stay at the Hampton Inn due to Best Western did not have a king handicap room available.
When we first arrived I thought the property looked well kept so we went in to get a room.
I was assured that the handicap rooms were top notch and easily accessible.
Well first off the handicap rooms are all the way on the back; there were not many handicap spaces so my husband had to jump the curb so we could park our vehicle near our room. He said not a big deal for a nice room.
We got inside and found a spacious room with only minor issues such as blown light bulbs and dirty vent.
The toilet was raised for easier access, a shower chair was provided, and the shower had a handheld unit. I thought wow this seems to be just what we need. Well the next morning we got up to get showers before hitting the road; well the shower chair did not fit in the shower correctly and then the handheld shower would not come on period.
I called front desk to ask for instructions on handheld shower; they questioned me like I was a 2 year old attempting to operate it but finally agreed to meet me at next room to show me how to operate it; they could not get it to work either.
The breakfast was fair at best; the waffles are pre made and just reheated. There was cereal and pastries on hand, not much fresh fruit and some juice.
Well we get ready the best that we can and go to checkout; they refuse to honor their 100 percent satisfaction guarentee, and we were charged full price for the room.
I have pictures of everything wrong with the room after the handheld shower incident.
After checkout, I called corporate to voice my opinion about their guarantee. They advised they would have the manager call me within 3 days to discuss the stay. No call was received.
Corporate did callback to let me know that they would be looking into why the manager did not callback and also into my dissatification.
I will post pictures once I get them downloaded onto computer
