“Great place for a Sunday lunch”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 January 2014

A group of 6 friends had a lovely lunch at SBH last Sunday.
This hotel has been refurbished and the decor is lovely, we sat in the dining room which was very nice.
The meals were of a high standard and a good price.
The liver casserole, fish and chips, pie of the day and chicken parmagarna were all delicious.
There is also a good range wine and beer on tap.
The staff were also very helpful and friendly.
All in all a great place to have a casual lunch.

“Gone down hill big time!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 November 2013

We used to come to the South Beach Hotel for lunch because of the value, I loved the steak sandwiches and chicken parmiganas.
Well the place now has lost it's value big time! I had a steak sandwich today, the steak was no thicker than a piece of bacon with what was supposed to be caramelised onion, I could count not more than 6 bits of onion, they would have to be embarrassed to serve it.
My wife had the chicken parmigana which was one of those heart shaped artificially manufactured schnitzels you get from the woolworths or coles deli, when we first came here they used to be real chicken and a decent sized too.
We have also before had what they call a pie but all it was is a stew or casserole in a bowl with a piece of pastry placed on top, so we made the decision then to never have that again, it looks like this cheating and cutting corners has passed onto all the other meals too.
SBH you have dropped the ball and lost some valued customers, we won't be back, we will now find a better value pub for our Sunday lunches.

“Great 'local'!!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 19 August 2013

While visiting from Melbourne and staying nearby this became our 'local'. Great friendly atmosphere, locals made us feel welcome and included us in their conversation. Food was good with great daily pub grub specials at around $16. Staff were excellent, thoroughly enjoyed time spent in this warm, friendly, gorgeous older looking pub that has had a fantastic upgrade.

“Classic hotel and friendly staff.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 31 July 2013

Driving out of fremantle looking for a place to park and eat, we followed the coast south, and came across the South Beach Hotel, we parked right out the front and wandered in.
Friendly staff helped us with our order and we took a seat anywhere, this is a lovely looking pub, I could imagine it being an awesome hang out as a local, unfortunately i live too far away.

I ordered a Surf and turf as did my friend and were so excited when it came out. A lovely large serving with lots of garlic sauce, the prawns just burst with freshness, and the garlic sauce is the best i have tasted in perth so far. The steak did taste a little bland but all in all it was a great meal. When in Fremantle again i would indeed have my lunch here again. It was a great start to my time off work. Thank you South beach hotel.
