“Lunch Only. More of a diner than destination”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 January 2014

The Crown is OK...but it certainly is not distinctive. You can find similar fare in dozens of other southern lunch spots. If you are a 'foodie', Nola should be your choice. If you like predictable and traditional grub, grab lunch at The Crown.

“An Eatery with Character!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 September 2013

What a lovely local restaurant! You walk through a large giftshop when you first walk in. Be sure and take the time to browse - lots of lovely items that would make perfect gifts! The restaurant itself is warm and inviting. The staff are so nice and the food was scrumptious! I could have just filled up on the yummy beer bread! The catfish and gumbo were super good! Next time I'll just come back for coffee and the "all you can eat" pie!

“Eat here”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2013

Excellent 'home cooked' food and great service. We've eaten there occasionally for many years, even when it was in a farm shed. Very friendly staff. Not 'home cooked' in the rural MS sense of too much sugar with everything fried but in the sense of delicious and well prepared but informal. My wife and I eat here often when travelling through Indianola. The atmosphere is good but informal with paintings by local artists on the wall. A few blocks from the BB King museum, don't miss that either. Enter through an interesting shop with mostly local products. Their catfish pate is superb, we drive for miles to get it and take it all over the country for family and friends.

“Delicious gumbo and salads”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 August 2013

If you like gumbo, by all means, go to Crown Restaurant when you are in Indianola. It is absolutely delicious. We also had the house salad with come-back dressing (well named) and catfish salad which was delicious. Service also was excellent. The place is family-owned and operated, and they obviously understand hospitality and good food. It deserves its long history of success.

“I love The Crown”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2013

I have been eating at The Crown for about 30 years! It is always fabulous. The appetizers to try before you are seated to eat are always a welcome site. Any entree you choose is delicious. And, my favorite, the dessert bar, has includes pavlova, trifle, and pies that make your mouth water!

After your meal, enjoy browsing the cookbooks, packaged food items, children's toys, and jewelry that is for sale.

Mrs. Evelyn Roughton, her daughter, and staff always greet you with a smile!!
