Went to see the Old Masters and Monet exhibit. Was very unimpressive. Museum entrance and parking not clearly marked. Had to wander around for about 15 minutes to find the entrance. When we got there the staff was indifferent. The exhibit was not presented well. Stayed a total of 20 minutes.

Wow, I just finished seeing the new exhibit at the Mississippi Museum of Arts. As always their exhibits are great. This one meets all the expectations of a great show. I loved the paintings and also the way that you had free audio by using your cell phone. How neat was that. Dial up a number then key in the numbers on some of the paintings for an audio tour..Great fun and great information. This one is going on until Sept so please do not miss it.
While there check out the other exhibits too.

As museums in small cities go, this is a lovely one. We enjoyed the French masterpieces from the Hartford Athenaeum, although there was nothing spectacular. Show of quilts was terrific, but the really great experience was the Mississippi Experience--it is really well hung and, for a non-native, a wonderful introduction to the rich cultural history of the state through its visual arts. Had a great lunch in the museum cafe too.
