I'm glad I read reviews of motels in Laurel, MS because we would never have chosen an Econolodge. I must agree this is an economical choice and we will certainly stay here again on our way to the coast. It is a no frills place but provides all the necessities for a reasonable rate. We had a king bed, mini frig, microwave, ironing board, hair dryer and a small sofa. We had two sinks in separate areas which was great for getting dressed. One sink was in a very up to date wooden vanity. The bathroom had a nice stone floor. We enjoyed plenty of hot water for our showers.
From the number of cars in the parking area, I believe several people know this motel is a good value. We really expected maybe a cup of coffee at check out but were pleasantly surprised to be offered waffles, cereal, juice and Krispy Kreme droughts!
For someone who would be hanging around all day this might not be the best choice of places to stay, but for a safe, inexpensive overnight stay I would highly recommend this motel.

Room Tip: We were on lower level near our SUV.

We were very pleased with our stay! The room was fresh and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the service was friendly. The free breakfast was perfect; options were waffles, cereal, and bagels; also orange juice and coffee. We also enjoyed the large selection of TV channels, the microwave, and the mini fridge in our room. This hotel is a great value!

#1 issue: We were appalled to find - unfortunately, the following morning - that the peep-hole was installed backwards so anyone could see right into our room! Front office staff didn't think it was as big a deal as we did...hmmmm...on purpose??? In addition, the room was filthy. Cleaning staff needs to be fired or re-trained. Floors had not been vacuumed or mopped. Bathroom: dried blood drops on floor and urine stains all over front of commode. Carpets have not been thoroughly vacuumed in ages: corners were filthy. Trash in between bed and nightstand. Cigarette hole in bedspread. We would have left but it was late night and reservation was non-refundable. And we paid over $70 for this room.

Room Tip: Do not reserve ahead of time, look at room first and check peep-hole. DO NOT take room around soda m...

Frank guest reviews such as yours, are appreciated, as they give us the chance to improve. Wrong instillation in the door is also unacceptable and we are looking to this problem also. It seems other issues you experienced were the result of unacceptable housekeeping practices. There is currently a new management team in place who have been working meticulously to ensure guest rooms are clean and comfortable, offering a relaxing place for our guests to enjoy their time in our area.

All in a another good stay here. Clean, fairly comfortable. I'd pay $10.00 more a night for a better TV, better pillows and an expanded breakfat, but for about $70.00 including taxes you'd be hard pressed to beat the value here.

Truth be told I was going to try the Hampton Inn this trip, but it was sold out. The EconoLodge proved again to be a smart, value choice.

I would recommend this location.

On our way to the Gulf Area we needed to stop for the night. I did not have reservations but luckily I found this motel. When I noticed all the construction/ service vehicles in the parking lot I felt like this was an indication that the place would be clean and a good value. That is exactly what I found. I would much rather stay at a motel filled with constuction/business customers. I felt safe and secure here, no problems with room, noise etc. There was a convience store nearby within walking distance to pick up snacks/ drinks etc.

Room Tip: Try to book early to get a ground floor room.

We read the Tripadvisor reviews and chose this spot due to location, price and location to The Smokehouse. The Receptionist is a sweet elderly woman, who really is not knowledgable of the area or this facility. That being said, the soda machine is broken and there is no bottled water offered. So stop and bring some. Simple breakfast is included. Air conditioning will put frost on you! The bathroom is spotless. Works for us. For 65.00 you have a good amount of space and a big bed! Don't hesitate to stop.

I travel about half the year on business and this is the 3rd time that I have found myself for the night in Laurel, MS and I have stayed all three times at this location. It is affordable, fairly clean and upkept anda good value for the money.

If you're looking for a clean, basic place to rest for the night at a good price, then look no further.

The service has always been cordial and the location is decent as well.

Room Tip: Ask for a romm that faces the hotel next door as it will be cooler than the other leg of the hotel w...
