“Superb service and accommodations”
Reviewed 5 April 2014 via mobile

Everything here was great. Friendly staff, very clean, nice, large room with comfortable bed. Great deal for the price. For most hotels like this you would pay $200+. They will also let you request what floor you'd like, and I requested to be on the side away from the interstate so it would be quieter, and they were happy to oblige. Hassle-free booking and check-out, and they don't try to stick you with hidden charges. Will be back!

This is the top of the line in the Jackson Metro area. Point blank!!! Ultra quality for the Jackson Metro area. There is nothing better!!! I've tried everyone in the area. The breakfast is unreal here! Super clean & ultra modern. It has a Swiss feel to this place.

Room Tip: Choose the rooms that face west! There is nothing better than a top floor & west view at this pl...

The Southern U.S. is full of wonderful small cities and towns that are a secret to non-locals. Ridgeland, MS is one of them. A very affluent town, it is located just outside of Jackson, Mississippi and a scant half-hour drive from the impressive Vicksburg National Military Park, on the amazing Mississippi River. It boasts many first-class hotels and restaurants and the Hyatt is one of them. Located within walking distance to an upscale outdoor mall with many "name" shops and outstanding restaurants, and literally right across the road to the major businesses in the area, which include financial services and banking, it is in the perfect spot for shopping, eating and doing business. The rooms are gorgeous and extremely well-appointed, with an excellent complimentary breakfast. There is plenty of parking and the staff are extremely helpful. It has a full bar and a café. The cost is quite attractive too, as in most larger cities, the same room in the same hotel would easily be double the price. It is a beautiful place, right off I-55 and minutes from Jackson and an easy half hour ride (at the most) from the airport. Stay here - you'll be glad you did!

Room Tip: They're all good.

Clean, large rooms. Walking distance to great restaurants. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. new exercise equipment. The large TV with HD channels are always a plus. The free wifi was fast and easy to connect to. Hot breakfast had plenty of selections, coffee was good, hot and strong.

Although this hotel is small, the accommodations, breakfast (the best scrambled eggs), room and maid services, and staff were great. A nice place to stay that is less crowded and still has what one needs when away from home.

Room Tip: The bathroom is the suite is a little small.

I'd have given it 5 stars, but for the quality of housekeeping, and consequently, the cleanliness of the rooms.

I moved into the Hyatt after a particularly nasty experience at another hotel in the Ridgeland, MS area (see my previous review). In fact, I'm in the hotel as write this. And let me tell you, the Hyatt was a refreshing change and by far much better than my previous experience.

I've been staying here for 3 weeks, and I have another week to go, and the staff have been outstandingly friendly, helpful, courteous and accommodating - all of them. They know guests by their names, and go out of their way to make them feel special.

The breakfast is very good - prepared fresh, tastes good, and the coffee is delicious. The sandwiches, skillets, sausages, eggs, waffles, pancakes and fresh juices are worth waking up to every morning.

The amenities are good. The gym, though not fully equipped, at least has some barbells, a bench, 2 treadmills, a cycle and an elliptical cross trainer. A word of caution though - the maintenance of the equipment could be improved - the elliptical cross trainer was not working when I checked in, and even now, 3 weeks later, it hasn't been fixed. The problem with housekeeping/maintenance seems to plague the hotel. The pool, though small, is well maintained and clean.

The housekeeping has been pretty bad. A couple of times, my room simply wasn't cleaned! I returned from work in the evening to find it in the same state. The reception staff and the manager were apologetic, and promised to resolve it. At other times, the housekeeping staff hadn't replenished my toiletries, and I had to go to the reception to get some. During other times, they neglected to clean the used coffee mugs (and that is what prompted me to finally write this - how many times do I have to complain?). The housekeeping staff are not at all friendly (a stark contrast from the rest of the hotel's staff) and seem pretty slow and lazy. Often, they have not done all the rooms even by 5:30 PM! At another time - and this is the worst - I entered my room to find a housekeeping staff member sitting watching TV with her feet up on the sofa!

The hotel doesn't have a coin-operated laundry or any kind of shuttle service - things that I found out too late (some travel websites claim that they do - Hyatt's website doesn't).

The wifi was poor in my original room, but when I brought it up with the staff, they immediately moved me to another room with a better connection. Another testament to the staff's concern and caring for guests.

The rooms themselves are well equipped, with giant TVs, coffeemakers and frides. But they could do with microwaves.

The hotel seems ideally suited for short or medium term stay, and is not suited for large groups. When I've stayed here, there have been 2-3 large groups here, and the reception and kitchen staff seem to be overwhelmed, leading to a drop in service. Breakfast service becomes shoddy, for example. But I attribute this to a lack of training, rather than a lack of will, and it's something that can be improved

I would probably stay here the next time, but I wouldn't stop looking for better hotels.

Room Tip: Avoid the rooms at the north and south extremes/ends - they don't have wifi.

Over the past 6 months, I have stayed here at least 5 times. The staff is very accommodating and friendly, but the maintenance and cleanliness of the rooms always seems below standards. I've stayed in four or five different rooms in this hotel, and only one of them did not have some minor problem. In one, the shower did not drain properly and I was standing in three inches of water by the end. In another room, the sink did not drain. Another room had a toilet that was not very clean. Another room had a problem with the mini-fridge (it was not installed properly and made a loud noise as a result). Also, for whatever reason, that bathrooms never seem very clean, with discoloring on the walls and floors of the shower and in the toilets. In short, I really want to like this hotel, but come away disappointed each time I visit. I know some of my complaints seem minor, but the hotel has so much potential. I go in expecting it to be really nice and come away slightly frustrated that the minor details seem overlooked.
