This is a great example of Holiday Inn's new prototype building - rooms are bright, stylish and modern, with flat screen TVs (although at 27" they're sized too small for the generous room size). I stayed on points and received a corner room that has a small wraparaound window setup, but I don't think the corner/end rooms are bigger than standard rooms.

A big plus is that this is a full service hotel...with included high speed internet. It's wired in the rooms with only a weaker wifi signal available. The wired access was fast.

One "wrinkle the nose" issue is the bathrooms. While the sink/vanity area is granite and looks modern, the shower-only setup in my king room looked like a throwback to 1985 - with cheesy beige ceramic tile on the walls and small floor tile borrowed from a high school locker room. It's as if the owners ran out of money while building the property.

Now, for the noise issue: It's true that this hotel is beneath the takeoff/landing approach for the north/south runways at MEM. At my mid-level room, the corner wraparound window probably intensified the rumblings from the FedEx DC-10s taking off to the south; my north-facing room probably wasn't best either. If you do stay, ask for a lower level and south-facing room, and NOT a corner room, and I believe you'll be in great shape.

Also keep in mind that this property, while new and fresh, is by itself in its area - there are no restaurants within walking distance; indeed, there is little but empty lots within walking distance. It's a very short drive to Goodman Road and many dining options, however.

I have been staying at this hotel since they opened. Best value in the Memphis area. I am a Platinum Priority Club Member and this is the best Holiday Inn I use. Recommend to anyone.

this is one of the new Holiday Inns, which I was hesitant to stay at first, but am so glad that I did. It is nothing like the old ones, very CLEAN, safe, location was good, kinda off the main road, but close to everything, all the employees at the hotel were great. Drank at the bar and ate at the restaurant, and food was really good too, and priced ok. The rooms were very impressive, again, very clean.....you can tell they keep on top of their cleaning group.
I stay in this area often and usually stay at the Hilton Gardens but since the Hilton Honors points have changed I will no longer be staying there, but have found a much better place....you should try it.....

This was a nice Holiday Inn. The rooms were large and very clean. Check in was smooth with friendly staff. Beds were very comfortable, and the shower head in the bathroom was fabulous! Only problem there was tub was slow to drain. Breakfast was kind of a weird deal. On check in they gave us coupons for the 6.95 continental breakfast. That was nice, but if you used them, then they would charge us for our kids to eat. If we ordered off the menu, then the kids could eat free. Confusing-we skipped that whole deal and ate elsewhere. The swimming pool was small, and chilly. The place could have used a hot tub. But overall, a nice hotel worth the money.

This Holiday Inn is like Paradise in the middle of a busy area. It is hidden, but that is a plus because it is not very far from a great shopping and restaurant area.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Check in went smoothly. The staff assured me if I needed anything they would be more than happy to get it for me.

The room was clean and smelled fresh and there was not a hint of smoke!!! That was a PLUS!!!! The bed was very comfortable and the crisp white sheets were nice. It is apparent the staff takes pride in the hotel.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Southaven, MS.
