We visit the area year in mid July for a sporting competition and usually stay at the Premier Inn nearby. A group of us decided to stay here for a change this year. In general it's a nice hotel with spacious rooms and decent facilities but it was an extremely hot weekend and the air conditioning apparently wasn't working when I asked reception. The room was boiling and it was difficult to sleep both nights.
Another member of our party booked a family room but when they arrived they had been allocated a double room whereas another party member had not booked a family room but had been put in one! All a bit disorganised!
The bar and restaurant area was nice and the food was excellent though the wait time was quite long. Portions are not huge and the menu is small but the dishes we had on both nights were really good.
We will probably stay here next year but I hope the air con will be working!More
