Nice hotel, comfy bed, lovely new bathroom, sadly the extractor didn't work so left it a bit like a sauna. Food was good, the young man on the carvery could have done with a hand at times but he did a fabulous job regardless. My only criticism was the tv in my room, only three channels and no remote, I only wanted to watch the news so no drama. Friendly and pleasant staff, would stay there again.

Room Tip: Ask for room with a refurbished bathroom.

For a family funeral we stayed here for one night. At £55 for the room it was good value as this included an excellent comprehensive breakfast and, if we had desired, access to te swimming pool and leisure suite. The hotel is easy to locate and despite being on the East Lancs Road, is really quite rural. Our room was clean and comfortable with a good double bed . Only complaints were a poor TV for which the remote did not work, and a poorly repaired door lock which was unsightly. The reception is light, airy and welcoming and there is an attached pub with outdoor tables. The restaurant, which we did not use, nevertheless looked good - but why no menu in the room? The ladies in the breakfast room were cheerful and helpful.

I have stayed here a few times now mainly because the location is good for work and the rest is all average.
Receptionist is luck of the draw most very helpful and polite, one clearly doesn't enjoy her job makes no eye contact to the point of being rude & doesn't project a good corporate image.
Carvery is good value, bar often has a quiz night, breakfast is a buffet.
Rooms are usually clean but this time the bath hadn't been cleaned with hair left by previous occupant yuk.

I have stayed here on and off for the last 6 months and have not found anything better in a 10 mile radius. The staff are fantastic from reception to the leisure centre and the management "nothing" is a problem for them. The rooms are spacious and comfortable, big screen tv, en suite bath and shower and free internet. This is now my second home and i can only attribute this to the friendly staff and the high standard of accomodation. As a guest you get free access to the sauna, Steam room, Pool, Jacuzzi and Gym. Room Rates are very reasonable and i would recommend this hotel highy. Great Value for Money

34 of us stayed at the Greyhound as part of our rugby preseason programme. We needed decent accomodation and good food at a competetive price. We got all three at the Greyhound and this was topped up by the friendly and helpful staff.Thank you all.Pleased to recommend.

We stayed here two weeks ago for a night away during a two day trip we took. It was basic everything but ok to look at .... But the worst part is the important part, the beds were awful! We had a family room as our friends from that way met up with us , and both beds in the room were shocking. One you rolled into the middle and the other was hard and flat. The lighting in the bathroom and the little sink area was appalling.
However the restaurant/pub was nice. The food was hot fresh and lovely.. and the drinks selection was good. So was the service.
We wont be coming back - but it defintely needs improvements.
