breakfast was only slight disappointment scatterbrain staff and was slightly rufe to a few guests whilst we dined, food was warm but not hot.. however we were more towards closing time

Just got back from a lovely 3 night stay at the greyhound hotel. We had two rooms myself and my wife in one my son and his girlfriend in the other. The hotel staff couldn't do enough to help us and they were all really friendly. We ate each night in the restaurant and the food was fine all be it the carvery was a little dry one night that was partly our fault as we were late eating and it was about to finish. We also had a cooked breakfast each morning and that was one of the better ones I have had. Wi-fi is free in the hotel. Really enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel to our friends.

The carpet in room 404 was disgusting, we didn't want to walk around barefoot! The chair at the dressing table was appalling, it looked like it was stained from someone wetting themselves. This room should not be used in its current state. Even if clean, which it wasn't, the general decor was dated. The price of a Premier Inn but nothing like as nice. Breakfast was average at best. The bed was surprisingly comfy.

We should have complained about the state of the room, but there is no excuse as this room is not up to anyone's standard for £70 and should not be used until sorted.

The bar looked good but we didn't go in as we had other plans. We didn't visit the pool/gym etc so can't comment on this.

Myself and my mum stayed here as part of a trip to Coronation Street with Newmarket Holidays, it was lovely, first impressions the room was a little bit dated but the beds were really comfortable and had everything you needed including a hairdryer and fan and tea/coffee facilities, the evening meal and Breakfast were both lovely and staff all seemed friendly, I would definitely stay here again!

I stayed at this hotel for a ladies trip to Haydock Races. The event organiser Linda was efficient, and nothing was too much trouble to attend to the needs of our party. The rest of the hotel staff were just as helpful, which complimented a lovely day. You couldn't argue at the cost of the package or the food which was plentiful, warm and served by smiling staff, again who would do anything to help if need be. I wouldn't hesitate to do this package again or recommend it to any family or friends.

Stayed here for one night on a coach holiday, we were made to feel very welcome all staff were friendly and professional. The evening meal was very good quality and value, The breakfast was also very good, plenty of choice and good quality. The hotel was clean and basic but that is all you need it was great to have a bath and a shower, that pleased both of us as i am a bath person and the hubby is a shower person and there was plenty hot water and towels.. The bed was lovely and comfortable and the room was very spacious. Considering there was a hen night going on in the hotel there was no noise i can honestly say it was the quietest hotel i have ever stayed in no noise all night. The only problem was the heating must have been broke could have done without it being on when it was 28degrees outside. If i was travelling to the area again i would definately book to stay there it was most enjoyable. Thank you to the staff for a very pleasant stay.

Having stayed here a couple of times and enjoyed it ,although this time we we're not staying in the hotel we decided that as we we're in the area we would have our lunch here.
I had the 6 ounce cheese Burger with fries and a pint of cask ale, and thoughrally enjoyed it.
Unfortunately my had a prawn sandwich with soup, the bread was a bit crusty and no butter, and the soup was only warm, and her shandy was flat,to their credit, the lady who served us changed it all with no qualms, and the replaced food was OK.
We would certainly eat or stay here again as we have allways had very good service, and hopefully this was just a one off.
