“Bugged out...”
Reviewed 23 August 2003

We have been to the Bradford Inn several times and have always been very pleased. We thought we had finally found our "home away from home". However, our last stay at the Bradford was not so pleasant. We checked into the Wisteria room around 8 pm, and my husband and two children took their showers and watched television for awhile. After my husband and youngest son fell asleep in the king size bed, my oldest son folded out the sofa sleeper and began reading. After about half an hour, he came in and said, "Something bit me." He had several bites on his back and arms. I went in and saw several bugs crawling in his pillows and on the bed. I returned to the king size bed and also found several small bugs in the pillows and on the bed there. I woke my husband and he went immediately to the innkeeper, who promptly gave us The Pheasant Room downstairs. The next day we did a little "research" and discovered the bugs in our room were bedbugs. While in the Pheasant Room, we misplaced the remote control. I looked under the bed and found two empty soda bottles, and the post cap to the bed. I also found three porn magazines and dirty underwear in a dresser drawer, not to mention the dirty wadded up grocery bag in the tv stand. Our visits there had always been so pleasant and we were really disappointed. We had to fumigate our luggage and many of the items we had taken with us as a precautionary measure, before bringing our belongings back into our home. It was a disappointing trip.

The Bradford Inn is located atop a small mountain/large hill overlooking Branson from the west. We watched the fireworks from the balcony each night from Celebration City below. The rooms at the Bradford are well worth the price. We particularly liked the French Room. Some rooms, like the French, have a two-person jacuzzi. Very romantic. All the balcony's are somewhat shared (no privacy), however, hardly anyone was out there either in the morning or evening. We had a home cooked breakfast every morning (7:30-9:30), and coffee is ready by 7:00. Best time to ride the "strip" to plot/plan everything by car is early morning - especially before 10:00. After that, there are two or three alternate routes that go above and below the city. Once you get to know these routes, navigating is a snap. The best shows we saw were Jimmy Osmond, Shoji Tabuchi, Country Tonite, Jim Stafford, and Legends.
We saw other shows too, but these were the best. We felt the train ride was not worth it. Not much to see as everything is overgrown. You must visit the Candlestick Inn for lunch (dinner is expensive). Great view, great food, and great lunch prices. Downtown, Mr. B's for ice cream! We didn't visit Silver Dollar City or Celebration City as they're more geared for children with a lot of rides (roller coasters, etc.).
There's a Subway across from the Stone Hill Winery, and great pizza at Luigi's, which is in a strip mall across from the Lawrence Welk Theatre. All in all, a great vacation :-)

Bradford Inn sits on a high bluff overlooking Branson away from the traffic and crowds. It is located fairly close to Silver Dollar City. Bradford Inn is somewhat like a bed and breakfast with several cottages with three or four rooms each. Bradford Inn serves a great family style breakfast cooked to your liking. Very quiet and clean. We are going back this summer to stay in the loft in July. Not inexpensive but worth it.

My wife and I have stayed at the Bradford Inn twice and have enjoyed our stay both times. Each room has its own theme. Both of our rooms had a jacuzzi. The rooms are of decent size and very clean. Great views. The breakfast is very good and the staff is very friendly. Highly recommend.

We were expecting alot from this Inn as it is rated very high in a book. There are 31 rooms that are all different. We wanted a room with a jacuzzi, and the one we had did. It also had a fireplace and a extra large bathroom, that we did not really need. Of course, during the winter the fireplace would be great. When you call, tell them what you want, and get the lowest price room with the extra you want. We paid $100 for the Bridal Suite, when we could have had another room with the jacuzzi we wanted for only $70. The TV was too small, and the clock radio could have been better. But, with the king size bed, and the free full breakfast, this was a great room for the price.
