We spent two week nights in August in Lodge 17, Condo 9, which is a corner unit on the top floor with a gorgeous view out over the lake. Since it's a top-floor unit, it has cathedral ceilings which make for a very attractive and roomy feel. It has a large balcony with a table and chairs as well as a porch swing - lovely for sitting out in the evening. We visited mid-week after local schools had started, so it was quiet with few other guests in the property. Our unit was decorated in full-on lodge style, so while I don't think the decor has been updated real recently, it's kind of timeless and is nicely done. The condo has two bedrooms with king-sized beds (mattresses much too soft for our taste and should be replaced) on the main level, and up a spiral staircase is a loft with a queen-sized bed. That room was perfect for our granddaughters, and the bedding on all the beds was nice. The two bathrooms were clean and pleasant, although the jetted tubs are extremely slick when wet. We put the bathmats inside the tubs so as not to fall when we were showering. The condo has an open floor plan with the kitchen looking into the dining area and living room and out to that wonderful view, and has fridge, stove, dishwasher and microwave, as well as washer/dryer. We ate only breakfasts there but found everything we needed in the way of pots and pans and dinnerware for that meal. There is a large fireplace in the living room (didn't use it) and four flat-screen TV's, one above the fireplace and one in each bedroom. We didn't use the sleep sofa in the living room so can't attest to it as a bed, but the sofa itself really needs to be replaced. The leather is showing serious wear and it isn't real comfortable to sit on. The two easy chairs, both recliners, are great. The property has a very nice, clean swimming pool, and a pay-to-play game room which our grandkids enjoyed for a half hour or so when we first arrived. Our plans included the Branson Belle riverboat and visiting Silver Dollar City, and this property offers good access to both. The office, which had no posted hours so you had to kind of guess when it was open, has kids' fishing poles available. We rented three and taught our grandkids the rudiments of baiting a hook and casting. I believe at the Villages each condo has a different owner, so each one will be unique and some will be nicer than others. I would certainly return to this one, even with the soft mattresses, because of the marvelous view and the cozy ambience of the condo.
