“Not all mattresses are the same!”
Reviewed 13 June 2014

We love the cabins and atmosphere at the Wilderness. This has been one of our favorite places to stay. We have stayed about 4 times over the last year but the last two times we had Grizzley's Den and McCoy's Cabin. Both cabins needed a new mattress. We expressed our concerns about the mattress when we stayed at Grizzley's Den and were told that one they thought was on the list for a new mattress. We came back a little over a week later and stayed at the McCoy's cabin for a 2 nite stay; hardly slept either night as the mattress had dips on both sides of the bed. We actually stuffed a pillow between the box spring and mattress on both sides of the bed. This made it a little more tolerable to sleep on. We expressed our our love of the cabin and area but the need for a new mattress in this cabin too. There seems to be no under support for the box spring. The Supervisor called and said that the mattresses in those cabins are only a year old and sorry we were uncomfortable but the mattresses were fine. My Husband asked her to just please go check it out but she refused and said "There was no need since they're only a year old. Why she bothered to call is the question now as she made no effort to correct the situation. If we stay again, we will request not to get these two cabins as it would be more feasible to go to a hotel and get better sleep for $150 than no sleep and a back adjustment after leaving.

We are staying in a Rustic cabin #3. It is very roomy. The beds are all comfortable! Very clean. Shower small but it's nice to have one in the room. They provide clean towels daily. Pool is clean. They keep a great selection in the on site store. Grill on back porch. They have a couple of utensils to use. Store has burgers, hot dogs to grill. Coffee also provided in room with cups. Site super close to silver dollar city. Main strip not far but can take 10-15 min to get locations on the main strip. Back porch awesome. Lots of trees- peaceful.

We stayed here for a week in our camper.

Pros: Full hook ups, close to SDC (1.5 miles), free shuttles to SDC. Helen, at the front desk, was very helpful. Moved us to another slot when our first slot was too difficult to get the camper in.

Con: Narrow roads with not much maneuverability to get campers in the assigned slots.

Yes, the location is convenient to SDC, however, the camping sites are very tight as well as close to the highway so road noise is a factor. Bathrooms and showers were okay but not exceptionally clean. Didn't seem safe for kids running around and biking with the narrow roads and all the campers coming and going.

We have stayed at the Wilderness for apprx 15 years sometimes cabins sometimes we take our RV. Both are great. Season pass holders win big there with discounts as well as do veterans! My family has stayed in every type of cabin they have...all are good. It is a cabin so it is rustic. The smells are great the sounds are great way way better than big cedar! They maintain the same staff yearly and normally same families return so you make friends. My tiny complaint is sadly sometimes at night area residents visit the swimming pool with their own families almost like its a YMCA pool. . Smoking is allowed at the pool and I wish that would change because it stinks to non smokers .Area residents also use the dumpsters and bathrooms at night. I know this is beyond their control but maybe security could park up front or perhaps gates installed with some type of code to get in at night, last but not least RV are getting bigger every year maybe a lil more room for slide outs would be helpful( trim small trees) ... Other than that I LOVE IT THERE AND WILL NEVER STAY ANYWHERE ELSE IN BRANSON!

Room Tip: camping away from the road is much quieter, but its still not unbearable

We cannot say enough about this park. We stay in our RV and love the surroundings and all the trees. The staff have been very helpful and pleasant. We would recommend this park to anyone.
We looked at the cabins and they are really nice.

We stayed here 3 nights in our 29 ft RV. The sites are very, very small (thin & short) with hardly any room for parking, a fire pit or sitting. Worst thing is that the very busy Rte 265 is just 20 feet away. We were also unhappy with the parking at check-in, no clear place to park or directions (I would HATE to see it in the busy season!!) so we parked in the ONE "bus" parking lane. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable but we probably will not be back.

Room Tip: Try to get one of the sites away from the highway is your rig is short enough!
