One of the reasons we stayed at this property on this trip was that it was rated #1 by Trip Advisor reviewers and the rate was very comparable with other hotels we were considering. I would have to say we were not disappointed. The staff was very helpful at check in and acknowledged us as a Best Westerns Rewards member. The lobby is very well decorated and has plenty of seating for relaxing. The outside of the hotel is brick and the landscaping is attractive. The parking area is large and reasonably level. The lobby entrance is actually the 2nd level so 200 rooms while seeming to be ground level floors are actually the 2nd level of rooms. There are a four levels of rooms. We had room 318. The room was very nice, a king room that appeared larger than other rooms. It was an "L" shaped room with a wide entry hall way, a large sleeping area, flat screen TV and recliner. The HVAC is controlled by a wall thermostat, a nice touch. The AC worked very well considering the temperature was near 100 during our stay. The bath area was large with a jetted tub. Even though the sink area was outside the bath area it really wasn't in the room at all. The counter top area was huge and there was a small shelf running the length that allowed you to put toiletries up and out of the way of the cleaning staff.
We were there for 3 nights this time. The room was right by the elevator. I was concerned that we'd here elevator noise but that was not the case. I think we heard it once only. Somewhat surprisingly each morning we did here the shower from the room above. It almost sounded like a waterfall in the wall. Never at night, never waking us or or anything like that but once each morning. Housekeeping was fine. The room was clean. Sheets were not changed while we were there which I have no problems with. The bed cover was a bit askew when we came back the first evening but was ship shape the next two days. The small "do not disturb" sign had fallen to the floor by the door. It remained there for our 3 day stay.
The breakfast was fine. Sauage, scrambled eggs, gravy, cereals, waffles, fruit. More than enough to eat in a well maintained area. I was concerned the 1st morning because it was crowded due to buses but they moved people in and out easily and kept the food stocked. The next two mornings were not busy at all.
There is a gift shop with the usual items. But the nice thing about it is there is a ticket counter for area shows. No hassles, no time share promos, just an easy way to get tickets for the Branson shows. That alone makes the place stand out.
We checked out the pool area but did not use it. Honestly it was just too warm in there which was more a problem of the Branson heat than anything else. In the fall, winter, or even a normal summer it would be fine.
This is a Myers hotel, of which there are 6 in Branson. We didn't realize we had actually stayed in one last year. They obviously take pride in their properties. Staff was very friendly and cheerful in the hallways and when we left.
The hotel deserves it's #1 rating. I'd give it a solid A. It gets a grade of 94. 2 points off for the noisy shower above, 2 points off for the "do not disturb" sign remaining on the floor for three days, and 2 points off because the magnetic key cards would not always work for the exterior doors.
Overall Well Done
