Owner description: Imposing architecture and breathtaking scenery combine to make Ha Ha Tonka State Park one of Missouri’s most treasured spots. Located on the Lake of the Ozarks, the park features the stone ruins of a turn-of-the-20th-century castle built by a prominent Kansas City businessman high atop a bluff. More than 15 miles of trails traverse the park, leading visitors to sinkholes, natural bridges, caves and down to the lake.

“Ha Ha Tonka......simply Beautiful!”
Reviewed 24 July 2014

If you love walking, hiking, running Ha Ha Tonka is the state park for you. We ran early in the morning on one of the trails which had over 300 stairs. It took us up to a castle which has a higher elevation and a beautiful view, a great spot for taking pictures.

If you love the outdoors Ha Ha Tonka is a wonder state park with endless photo opportunities!

“Must See”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

We go here every time in the area. So much to see and do. We always pick a trail to walk since they have around 14 to choose from. The scenery is breathtaking and some interesting history to read about as well. Must go see the castle ruins for free.

“Good Hiking Trails”
Reviewed 22 July 2014

Stopped at the information office when we first arrived at the state park. Some easy, well identified, trails that lead to very challenging trails. We felt like we got a good workout and saw some interesting sites. The 316 steps that take you down to the lake were pretty challenging coming back up. There were several people swimming in some parts of the spring fed lake.
