My husband and I met another cuple at Clay Cabn for a week of motorcycling. The entrance is gravel and steep and rutted. Fine for a car, but not for riding in and out of on bikes. We trailered them up to the fire station and rode from there.
The Master Bedroom has a nice king bed. The rest of the rooms aren't as nice as far as the mattress quality goes. 2 family rooms was great. Sometime you just want to do or watch different things.
The dog kennel was huge - but the door goes to the ceiling and there was no light in there so we did not use it. Wewere glad we had the portable kennel.
The cave shower was awesome. The second bath needs some work - but he is making improements as he goes.
The appliances were nice and the cabin did meet the pictures. Our friends donated a cheap toaster as we wanted breakfast a couple of times.
If you are into the lake and golf there is tons to do.
Visit Redheads for day of pool swimming and have access to the restaurant and bar.
Jon - the owner - was great to work with. Gave many tips and was very nice and flexiable.
The big negative I would give for this cabin is for as many people as it sleeps - the dining options were not stellar. No place where 4 people can comfortably eat other than outside on the deck.
We liked Clay Cabin - it's not perfect, but we did think it was special.
The neighbor has a donkey. This really was the country and it really was secluded.
