We stayed in Rackheath. It was very beautiful and nice during the day.but at night we heard noises and it was like it was haunted, food at the Station is excellent, but over priced. The paintings were provocative.

When you approach Rackheath, you know you are in for a wonderful experience. Even during the winter months the property surrounding the home is magnificent. With only three guest rooms in the home you will be assured of having a quiet place to read and relax if you wish or play a game or two in the downstairs parlor. The attention to detail shows in every room of the home.
With a full breakfast menu available at The Station on the weekends, it far surpasses the usual B&B fare. You don't have to answer to a particular time to eat and that is nice if you want to sleep in or enjoy the hot tub in the morning.
The best deal is to go for the weekend get-away. Guest room, three course tasting menu that is great and full breakfast in the morning. At $189 (without tax) it can't be beat!!

The properties grounds are a sublime mix of natural landscape and beautifully cultivated floral gardens. This setting provides the backdrop for the Greek inspired jewel known as Rackheath House. Truly a wonderful property with such attention to detail; the outdoor chess set, hammock by the pond, the covered veranda, and the open air patio with fire pit attest to the limitless ways to relax, The inside of the house does not disappoint either with opulent furnishings and ah inducing hot tub enclosed within a well-designed solarium.
My husband and I were quite pleased with our morning meals and the availability of coffee plus filtered water. There is a full kitchen, so if there is something in particular you cannot do without, just bring it along. We dined at the Station for all other meals. We highly recommend the tasting menu; by allowing the Chef to demonstrate his mastery and artistry of culinary skills results in a divine epicurean experience.
A side note, if you enjoy astronomy there are perfect dark skies at Rackheath House awaiting the telescope.
Lastly a thank you to all involved with Rackheath House and The Station. It was our pleasure meeting everyone and thank you again for your hospitality

The bed and breakfast was elegant and private with beautiful grounds. it was very nicely furnished and clean. We almost did not want to leave and do anything else bit enjoy it. We enjoyed the hot tub in the enclosed greenhouse. The only disappointing thing to us was that in a previous review, the guests said the host was very hospitable and gave them quite a bit of knowledge about the history of the house. We were not fortunate enough to meet her. But the people at the restaurant she owns were very helpful. The only misfortune we had was that on the weekend they serve a full breakfast at their restaurant and on weekends they deliver a continental breakfast to you but somehow they forgot to deliver ours and we had to call them so they could. Overall the stay was very nice. The only suggestion I would have to them is that most bed and breakfasts we have stayed at throughout the years offered a cold beverage or snack upon arrival and adding a fresh cut of flowers from the garden is always adds a nice touch.
