“Gorgeous apartment”
Reviewed 1 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

Had an absolutely fantastic stay in this pretty, traditional little apartment. It had everything you need plus it was spotless. It is in a great location just on the edge of the pueblo with all the local transport just outside the complex. The pool area is lovely too. Me and my husband will definitely go back.

Hi Tricia,
Thanks, this is a lovely review!
I'm glad you mentioned the.nearby access to the bus stops - not many people comment on that in reviews but it's very helpful information for future guests.
If you don't mind, I'll just add that you can get buses from Mijas to quite a wide range of places and the systems are set up so that changing from bus to train is easy too as the stations are close together.
Please do come back......I think we are just about through all the legal complications that we have had now, so we expect to be renting as normal in the near future.
Take care, cheerio Cath

Hi there Denis,
Thanks for a smashing review! Really glad you had a great time!
Thanks also for letting me (and future guests) know that my directions and instructions are up to the mark .... and thanks for reading them properly, which you obviously did. It is important to read all details from owners properly, in fact I'd go so far as to say that is is one of the few responsibilities guests have when renting (as well as a mark of respect). Nobody knows the property better than the owner and I'm sure that ALL owners send out information that they feel is important and/or useful so it should not be ignored or washed over.
As far as questions go, I'm always happy to answer where/when i can - your enjoyment is mine too in many ways. Just ask me one more question - "When can you go back?" .... the answer is "Any time!" It has been a pleasure!
Cheerio, Cath.

Hi there, updating is an ongoing thing at Los Molinos. However if it means creating a more minimalist environment, this would lose that very traditional Spanish character which most of our guests say they prefer – even down to the Pierre Cardin tiles in the bathroom! The kitchen and all the appliances have been recently renewed already as the images on TripAdvisor testify.
In the living room, some of the furniture is Spanish antique, some borderline brand-new, including two generous double sofas, which are to allow guests to invite friends in for drinks etc. but there is still plenty of floor space, again as our photographs clearly indicate.
Re climbing stairs, this is a Mijas hazard as the whole village is built into the mountainside and there are steep streets and staircases everywhere. Having said that, though there is one staircase inside, our instructions (the map) for accessing the apartment from the Pueblo car park point guests to a gently sloping path for easier transport of luggage.
Thanks, Cath

“Great Apartment”
Reviewed 25 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Great little Spanish style apartment just on the edge of Mijas which is only a 5min walk to the centre of the village with great restaurants and bars. The apartment itself is well equipped and has everything you could possibly require, is well decorated and in excellent condition and obviously well looked after by the owners. Booking the apartment could not have been easier and the attention to detail and instructions given by Cath the owner are second to none. Would definitely recommend if looking for somewhere to stay while in the Mijas area.

Hello there,
Lovely review - many thanks. Concise and comprehensive, I really appreciate your praise of all the things we try so hard to get right.
Recently, we have visited Los Molinos for a short break more or less every 6 weeks. This way, we have something to look forward to and also manage more easily to keep right on top of things.
I'm glad you like the way I present my instructions - I do try to help guests so that everything runs smoothly for a stress free holiday so I try to keep them brief and easy to read ..... I find using images helps (a picture paints a thousand words apparently)!
If ever you want to return, you know where to find us. You'll be warmly welcomed back.
Cheerio, Cath.

“First visit to Mijas Pueblo”
Reviewed 4 May 2016 for a stay in April 2016

First visit to Mijas Pueblo and staying at Los Molinos. Apartment is as described all you need is here. Pool area is lovely and close to the apartment. Apartment is within easy walking distance to shops bars and restaurants. The pueblo is undergoing extensive work right now resulting in roads and pavements being turned into a mini building site. Drains are being relaid and pavements relaid. Apparently the work is scheduled to continue through sumner months but each time we asked we got a different completion date ranging from mid June to November. Not the best introduction to the pueblo but you need to look beyond that to appreciate what will be , I am sure, stunning surroundings on completion.

Hi Sandra,
Thanks for the 5 star rating and brief but accurate description of the apartment.
Your review goes into more detail about the pueblo and the works so for the benefit of the reader I would like to go into more detail .....
The word "pueblo" loosely translated means village. Our apartment is within two pueblos ..,.. the immediate development (I hate that word) which is called Nuevo Pueblo and also Mijas Pueblo which is the well known and loved mountain village.
Mijas Pueblo is a very historical place , some of the older homes are caves hollowed out from the mountain side, now beautifully appointed and modernised. The ancient and rudimentary plumbing in central Mijas could no longer sustain the modern day requirements so the work inevitability had to commence sooner or later. This has taken a hard toll on tourism but most of the shop owners in the centre have carried on bravely. At the same time, the powers that be have made an effort to keep footpaths open, although some of them are quite rough. Like yourself, I think the finished product will be worth waiting for, both in terms of improved hygeine and appearance.
Luckily for us, our own little pueblo, Nuevo Pueblo, is relatively new and also far away from the building work so, except for when walking into the village, we are not affected.
I hope my response to your review will encourage readers to keep Mijas Pueblo alive by continuing to visit despite the temporary situation. Sad to say that if we lose our stalwart traders due to lack of business, it may never come fully back.
Thanks for your visit, come back any time.
Cheerio Cath

“Very Comfortable”
Reviewed 25 March 2016 for a stay in March 2016

The booking process with Cath went very smooth, she is quick to respond to questions about the property and was very helpful answering all of our extra questions about the Pueblo and surrounding areas.
The apartment is as described, clean and fully equipped with everything you would need right down to umbrellas for the odd rainy day. The owners have thought of everything and have left lots of helpful notes and tips throughout the apartment.
The location of Los Molinos at the entrance to the Pueblo is perfect and is set in a quiet charming Spanish apartment complex.
The extended balcony is on the south side of the building and is a great place to soak up the afternoon sun.
We would definitely recommend this property to our family and friends!

Hello Mark
Thanks very much - this is a lovely review and I'm very grateful for all the nice things you said.
It's good to let future guests know, for example, that the apartment is as described (I don't see any point in doing any other - it would only lead to disappointment and complaints).
Of course every owner hopes that all the reviews will gain five stars and I'd like to think that when my apartment grows up to be a big villa, this is what will happen!!!
Joking apart, I can tell you enjoyed everything and felt safe and confident throughout as we progressed through the booking process, discussed any concerns before you went and provided as much information as we could in response to your questions. Booking and even making that first enquiry is all part of the experience and it should be good from the outset - even more important for travellers from as far away as Canada.
I hope you will come back to Los Molinos the next time you feel the desire to visit Europe - and certainly please do recommend us to family and friends - the more the merrier!
Cheerio, Cath.
