We stayed here for 1 night with our 12 year old son. The pool area is amazing: pool, hot tub, and sauna. This place is busy and there are a lot of kids, but no crazier than any other hotel pool. My husband was complaining about all of the teenage girls going into the sauna and leaving the door open: not really the point, ladies, if your friends are leaving and you want to continue to talk to them, step outside :) The hotel offers an adults only hour between 10 and 11pm. I didn't stay in the pool area long enough to see if that was enforced. There are a lot of breakfast options in the morning, but nothing gluten free, except the fruit. It would have been nice to at least have one gluten free cereal (Chex is cheap). I just ran to the Hy-Vee down the road and picked up cereal and milk and supplemented that with the fruit at the hotel. The rooms do have a mini-fridge and a microwave, so you can prepare stuff in the room. The mini-fridge had a separate freezer section, which was great. I wish all hotels used these types of fridges. The room was clean and nicely decorated. We would definitely stay here again.

In general I am a fan of Stoney Creek Inns and this one has all of the usual atmosphere and charms that go with the chain. The place is well maintained and every staffer that we encountered seemed genuinely eager to serve our needs.

There are a few negatives, none of which have anything to do with the stellar staff here. First, the indoor/outdoor pool, while nicely designed, is far too small for an inn and conference center of this size. The pool was consistently overcrowded and, perhaps due to the capacity issue, the water was heavily treated with pool chemicals, making it feel like saltwater.

Our "cottage" room was quite large and very comfortable, but shower flow was overly restricted, making it a challenge just to get wet, let alone rinse off soap, shampoo, or pool chemicals.

We passed on the free breakfast upon learning that it featured no meat, other than biscuits and gravy. The breakfast room looked very popular, though, so what they offered night have been pretty good.

I would have rated this location higher but for the stingy pool size and even more miserly shower. They take water conservation a little too far, in my opinion, for the rates charged.

The property is very well themed, however its hard to tell if its for kids or families.

The shower curtains need magnets on the bottom of them, as well as an actual closet or cupboard for clothes would be nice.

Everything was clean and the staff was great.

Dear Nick, Thanks for sharing your perspective and the nice comments about staff, cleanliness and theme. I would say that our intention, typically on weekends, is that we are for both families and kids, and in my mind they are one in the same. We are in fact a very popular business traveler host and most of those are weekday travelers. We occasionally struggle with kids who run the halls or jump around in the guest room, but we find that most parents are courteous and understanding and responsibly make an effort to control their children’s behavior. Thanks again for your review and we wish you safe travels

We booked here with a group from our sports team. We had a reservation of two expanded queen beds in our room, but we arrived late and our room was unavailable, so we were upgraded to an expanded king suite. It was a beautiful room, steam shower, jacuzzi tub, and Levi, our desk clerk was more than accommodating when we were upgraded. We also needed assistance on the second night of our stay, and Cody was also very helpful. The location is very convenient, everything was clean, and the breakfast was adequate. Our suite even had a sunroom! All very nice!

Room Tip: The group rate is VERY reasonable, not sure about the single rate.

Great place to stay. We didn't arrive until late, but the front desk personnel were so nice, getting us to out room without any wait. The room was large, the Jacuzzi was wonderful after driving a car for 7 hours straight. We will definitely stay here again - everything was wonderful and everyone was so nice.

This is my 3rd stay at STI. Very friendly staff. Super clean room. Breakfast was a hassle as there were high school cheerleaders from a nearby clinic/camp staying there; too many people in too small of a space. But that is no fault of the management. Have put them in my contact list on cell phone.
