This was our 3rd time coming here since 1999. The first time was at Turkey Ridge with friends, the second time was as a couple in the Treehouse Suite and this time as a family in Aunt Phoebe’s Perch. Each time we come here our expectations are exceeded and we look forward to coming back. The grounds are beautiful and the cabins are set far enough apart that you feel like you’re the only people in the world. The owners, Kathy and Tom, have thought of everything that a guest could possibly want. Their attention to detail in decorating the cabin was meticulous but they made it feel so natural and effortless. The beds were very cozy and the view from the porch was impressive. The owners have canoes that guests can use on the river and we have enjoyed doing that in the past but this time there had been a lot of rain so the river was too high. Luckily, Kathy directed us to a wonderful hiking trail that was just down the road. The hike takes you to a clear creek and an impressive natural bridge. Our 6 year old son felt like he had a big adventure. This is a great retreat for friends, couples and families. You can make it active or be happy just relaxing and doing nothing. We highly recommend spending time here.
