We went to Deer Creek Estates for a friend's 30th birthday. We were skeptical we would be stuck in the lodge all weekend without anything to do due to rain. 16 people may be stuffy. However, it was spacious. Some of the porches/decks were covered, there was an outside shelter, and PLENTY of room for us to lounge and play games.
When we arrived, the kitchen was stocked with a few snacks and drinks. We had all the kitchen and cooking utensils we needed. Also, if you are interested in hunting, the showers were equipped for Scent Killer Body Wash & Shampoo. It was the minor details that seemed to be taken care of. It made for a light packing load.
We didn't hunt, but we did shoot clays and do a little fishing by the dock. The accessibility of doing both of these was great. Enough space between for freedom, but you didn't have to drive off the property.
Royal was excellent at helping us with any questions or concerns we happened to have. We were able to call him at a moment's notice if we needed anything, and it was ensured he'd pick up.
Oh, and I can't express or stress the BEAUTY of the lodge. If you want a secluded and spacious rustic cabin atmosphere at an affordable price this is perfect. If they'll have us, we're hoping to come back!
