My partner and I loved this place! She commutes weekly from our home in NJ to Overland Park, KS so we were looking for a place to stay not too far from the Kansas City airport when I went out for a weekend visit. We loved the idea of The Elms with its rich history and hoped for a quiet place to get away for the weekend.
Although there were quite a few events going on, the staff was attentive and very friendly. Our suite was really beautifully designed and extremely comfortable. The grounds are lovely with plenty of outdoor seating areas and walking trails. The downtown area of Excelsior Springs was just a short walk from the hotel. We highly recommend the Willow Springs Mercantile for a delicious lunch.
Perhaps the best part of our stay was our experience dining at Eighty-eight, The Elms restaurant. The food was outstandingly good - breakfast, lunch and dinner. The waitstaff was extremely friendly and service overall was great. The food was on par with any we've had in Manhattan - if not better.
We can't wait to go back!More
