“Local Treasure”
Reviewed 23 February 2013

We've been going to Cooky's for years and it does not disappoint. When you walk in it's like walking back in time as the decor has not changed much over the years, but that's one of the things we love.

As for the food, it's all wonderful! We all have our favorites so here is a collective list from our family of four: ham, brisket, fried chicken, pork chops, suzies, green beens and slaw stewed tomatoes. And for dessert, don't forget the pie. If you are too full, get it to go! They are all good, but our favorites are blueberry, pecan and reese's. Our son usually requests a whole pie:)

It's a lot of food at a reasonable price. If you get there later in the day you might want to order your pie first so they don't sell out of the one you like. They will hold it for you. I'm sure there are other great things on the menu, but we are creatures of habit and we always get our favorites instead of venturing out.

Also, if you go in the heat of the summer it might be hot so go earlier in the day or sit toward the back. It's only been hot for us a couple of times when the heat was intense outside.

We drive about 40 minutes to get there, its worth the drive!

“YUM!”

Cooky's is a small-town, friendly diner that is not short on good food and great service. And don't forget the pie. You can never go wrong with Cooky's pie!

This place is a little off the beaten path but it is good home cooked food, small but clean and don't forget to save room for the homemade pie

“Great pie in Golden City, Missouri”
Reviewed 11 February 2012

We stopped in for pie on the way through Golden City, Missouri. My wife and I both had blackberry pie with ice cream. Her parents had apple pie with ice cream. Everyone raved about the warm pie and ice cream. The coffee was better than I expected. Our waitress was a lot of fun and told us about specials they have during the week. Friday is pork chop night so we'll be back for that. This looks like a great small town restaurant.
