The front desk clerk was very nice on check-in, although my non-smoking reservation (booked through a discount website) had been changed by the manager to a smoking reservation, since the non-smoking rooms were $10 more per night than the smoking rooms. The manager was not available, so I paid the extra fee to ensure a non-smoking room, which was available (I'll be reporting this to the hotel discounter.). The non-smoking king room was clean and well-appointed, with the standard amenities (shampee, lotion, etc). A sofa-bed and coffee table were provided, with a mini-fridge and microwave. There was no desk or workspace, however. Breakfast was free and consisted of cereal, coffee, oatmeal, juice, and bread/muffins with suitable condiments (peanut butter was available, which was a nice touch). However, the toilet paper was empty and a partially-used roll was on the back of the toilet (small oversight). I stayed for two nights, and when I returned to the room the second evening, it seemed as if housekeeping had not come in -- the bed wasn't made and the carpet wasn't vacuumed ... it did not look like anyone had been in the room at all. When I asked about it an check-out, I was told that the beds would not be made during a multi-night stay, since "that's the way the manager wants it". When I responded that this was highly unusual for an hotel at this level, the clerk said that the housekeeping crew was "brand new", only 1 week old, and "didn't know what they were doing yet." I am well-traveled, and making the bed look nice (when not changing linens) is standard hotel service, even at 1-star hotels (extended stay hotels often have more limited housekeeping). GIven all these issues, I would stay at this hotel again, due to the location and the comfortable room.
