We stay almost exclusively at LQ when we travel. This was one of the worst ones we've ever stayed at. The place had an odor about it as soon as we stepped off the elevator into the hall where our room was located.

The cleanliness of the room was great, however it had a smell like it had been a smoking room in the past. The location was great if you need to be close to the airport or some shopping areas. Major interstates or very close and very convenient however one must read and follow the signs or you could easily miss the exit or entrance.
I probably should have chosen a cheaper hotel. Nothing against you. I loved they stay, yet usually do not pay $80 a night. Other than that, I cannot complain. Thank you so much for considering my feedback.
LQ told me (gold level member) that this was "refurbished in 2004," which was better than the other Saint Louis location that had not been refurbished. "Refurbished" means new flat screen tvs. Otherwise, soiled and smoked-saturated hallways. Soiled chair and carpet. 20-year old furniture. Look elsewhere.
This is an older La Quinta, but our room was clearly refurbished. It was a huge room with a king bed, desk and coach, with enough room left over for our dogs to play. We are both sensitive it smoke and this room had no smoky smell. Very comfortable bed. There were nice grassy areas in front and on the side for dog walking. We would definitely stay here again.
The Hazelwood location is a bit sketchy, but, it's an area of the city that is also seeing much improvement. I didn't feel unsafe. Our room was clean. Hallways were extremely smoky, but I didn't smell anything in the room. There was a refrigerator and microwave to use (the refrigerator made a humming noise, so we turned it off during the night and replugged in the morning) not available in all La Quintas. A good stay. Very comfortable bed.
