My wife and I were passing through Hermann on our way home and decided to stop. While at the Chamber of Commerce we saw the Wine Valley Inn just across the street. The chamber said it was really nice so we walked over. The lobby was very beautiful and all restored probably better than it was originally. We were greeted promptly and said we could basically take our pick of rooms(the good thing about traveling through on a Monday). WE took the room to the back of the hotel on the second floor and it was lovely. Comfortable queen bed, jacuzzi tub and separate shower, microwave and refrigerator. It overlooked a beautiful courtyard with a firepit and lots of plantings of herbs and wildflowers. Everything was so quiet and peaceful we enjoyed just hanging out. Breakfast(included) was served in the dining room the next morning and was delicious both to the eye and palette. We'll be back! Thanks Sonja.

Room Tip: Back of hotel overlooking the courtyard

This inn is within walking distance of multiple wineries, the Tin Mill brewery, and the delicious Wings A Blazin'. My wife and I went this weekend for a getaway and were pleasantly surprised. The staff was friendly. The French toast was amazing. We were given a welcome gift of a bottle of Stone Hill wine and 2 wine glasses.

We stayed in the Kimmel building for a weekend in January in one of the family suites and a regular king room. Overall very nice place. Some pros: clean rooms, friendly & accommodating staff, great location, comfy beds, good breakfast. A couple of cons though...the coffee is not very good, poor sound proofing in the rooms (our friends upstairs could hear us downstairs). Regardless, we would definitely stay here again though. Would have liked to see paper towels and kleenex in the family suite, but we made due with napkins we brought and tp.

We stayed in Augusta last year at a B&B and were greeted upon check in with wine & cheese and a brief history of the B&B. It was very fun getting to know the owners. Would have been nice for something similar in Hermann.

Overall, I do recommend the Wine Valley Inn. We had a wonderful weekend!

Room Tip: The family suite is definitely suited for 4 people.

We were there with 9 people for a 60th birthday. Spent close to $1500.00 for rooms and no reponse from the owner, Sonya Birk, when complaints were filed. They have the worst customer service establishment we have ever stayed in. Rude employees and nothing exceptional with the breakfast or rooms. Whatever you do, do NOT sit in the wrong chair at breakfast, bring eating utensils for snacks during the day. There are no hangers or blankets for the uncomfortable pullout bed. GO to the IRON HORSE INN, much nicer people and the rooms are comfy, clean and very home away form home type atmosphere. The town is fantastic and we will return!

Room Tip: Whatever you do, don't sit in the wrong ASSIGNED seat at breakfast. Bring your own eating utens...

WVIInnkeeper, Manager at Wine Valley Inn, responded to this reviewResponded 21 December 2011

The complaints and employee issues were addressed by the manager (Sonya is not the owner). However, apparently not the way you thought they should have been because of the review that was left. Our customer service is good, but sometimes guests are challenging and hard to please.

Our rooms do have hangers and extra blankets, sheets and pillow cases for the pull-out sofa units. Each room also has its own thermostat.

We do not normally assign seats at breakfast; however, when we have several small groups staying at the Inn at the same time it is necessary in order to place each group together in the dining room. We do not provide any eating utensils in the rooms, but they can be borrowed from our kitchen by checking with the Innkeeper. We also have plasticware packets available for any guest that requests it. The dining room tables are set up with napkins, juice glasses, water glasses, silverware (forks, knives, and spoons) each morning and there is always coffee and tea, cream, sugar, spoons, and cups available in our dining room and lobby throughout the day.

A wine tour to Hermann MO. What a treat. The Wine Valley Inn is a fabulous place to stay. This B&B pulls out all the stops for a fabulous stay, fire on the patio, scrumptous breakfast and impecable service. I recommend this for adults, business and friends. We took a group of 28 to Hermann Missouri and a great wine tastings, shopping and tours.

Stayed at the Wine Valley Inn recently to attend a Reggae Festival at the Robbler Winery near New Haven. The first great thing Sonya did was arrange for someone to drive my buddy and I out and back to the Festival. Reasonable charge and well worth it. The wine was flowing freely. Once my car was parked at the Inn, it was only moved once and that was to go out to Stone Hill the next day for lunch. Stayed in Family Suite 101 in the adjacent Kimmel building. Large apartment with nice bedroom a comfy pull out sofa (I am told) and each day a breakfast basket was provided so we could sleep late and still get food.
The web site shows off the rooms well, but it fails to show the lovely grounds(wish I would have taken pics). There is plenty of outside seating available and the Kimmel building has an upper and lower balcony and the lower was right outside our room. That is a big plus in my book. Would definately stay again when in Hermann. A+ on rooms, staff, and location. Bo

Our first time staying @ this location in Hermann and we loved this place. The location was great, and the staff super friendly. We plan to make this our new "standard" place to stay when we visit Hermann. The trolley stop is right out front too!
