“Very good wines”

Owner description: Adam Puchta Winery, located off Hwy. 100 on the banks of Frene Creek about 2.5 miles southwest of Hermann, is the oldest family farm winery in Missouri. Its true uniqueness, however, lies in the fact that the same family has continuously owned it since 1855. We are a true farm winery with a peaceful, laidback setting. Many cats live here, and the property has picnic tables on a lovely shaded hillside so you can sit, visit and relax.Tastings are done in a cool old barn where we pair wine with food for a truly enhanced experience.

“Very good wines”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 April 2012

This was our 2nd visit to Adam Puchta over the last several years. In my opinion, they still have the best wines on the Hermann Wine Trail.

“Wanted to buy almost every wine we tasted!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 April 2012 via mobile

We enjoyed tasting the wonderful wines here and wanted to buy most. We did buy several bottles -- especially the Traminette -- one bottle was not enough! Legacy, Vidal Blanc and Adam's Choice are some other favorites. The snack food pairings with the wines are a nice touch.

“Wine is good”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 April 2012

The wine is more than amazing. If you don't mind cats, they beg a little at first but then leave you alone (if you sit outside). It's definitely a country farm feel but again, the wine is very good.

“A nice change”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 April 2012

It is a good change from the touisty wineries in Hermann. I rate them so high because I think their wines are the best in the region. I will drive from St. Louis just to go here. It's sad that they are charging for tastings now, they held out for a long time but I guess they needed to make ends meet too.

“Very nice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 April 2012

They really knew how to make the taste come out during the testing. They would have you take a sip, eat something, and then another sip to taste the full flavor. It was great.
