You won't get better care anywhere in Tarascon. Beautiful gardens and pool and the restaurant was first rate. All the staff were helpful and gracious but when we had difficulties with our rental car, Francoise extended herself to us in a manner going way beyond the norm. She treated us like close friends or family. This hotel is very well situated and with modern conveniences such as wifi, you can have it all right here at Les Mazets.

Although slightly delayed in reviewing, this was a lovely hotel that served its purpose. We stayed 3 nights as we were attending a wedding nearby. Upgraded on our arrival to a "suite", appreciated and had nice views out to the pool. On the subject of the pool, watch out as it was freezing! Simple but delicious breakfast.

This is a comfortable and family friendly hotel .Nice for couples too. A lot of French people seem to be regulars. The hotel is set in pleasant gardens and has a wonderfully large pool, a paddling pool and hot tub. Our room was simple, clean and comfortable with a little terrace, where we could sip wine and enjoy the smell of the pines and the song of cicadas. We chose demi pension, and our supper on the terrace by the pool was delicious with a fine selection of local wines. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. We enjoyed a very relaxing time and came away with some lovely 'in house' beauty products purchased from the spa.

There is a saying around here that literally goes, "to live like God in France". It basically translates to having the time of your life in an utterly comfortable and prosperous situation, not necessarily in France.
However, the south of France is the place where my wife and I have been living like God for one midweek in August 2013, more specifically in this beautiful hotel minutes away from Tarascon, Arles and Les Baux.

We stayed in a "chambre luxe", a spacious and quiet airconditioned room with a safe and a terrace with garden and pool view. The hotel and restaurant staff were very kind and helping and the crickets in the trees around the hotel added to the relaxed atmosphere in a very special way exactly between 9:15 AM and 9:15 PM. Funny.
Okay, the bathroom was rather small. So what? Okay, wi-fi was only available in one central drawing room next to the reception desk. So what?

We took half board and we loved the food - basic but fine French cuisine; a different three-course pre-selection from the restaurant's menu, served under a big tree on the terrace next to the pool. Perfect, if you don't mind going to bed with one or two mosquito bites in the summer season.
We were able to enjoy every breakfast in open air as well, on another terrace at the other side of the hotel.

We discovered Les Mazets Des Roches through the online Châteaux & Hôtels Collection guide. Assuming that all C&HC members are just as great as this one, we will definitely check out more of them in the near future.

Room Tip: My review is based on a "chambre luxe" arrangement.

This was our favourite hotel on our 6 week holiday in Germany and France. What an absolute gem, definitely not the best value for money but a real treat! We had half board and the restaurant was absolutely fantastic. Catered for our son (3) really well. The pool is a delight, wasn't overly busy any of the days we were there (3 days), the hotel provide plenty of sun loungers and nice pool towels. All the staff are really welcoming and great English is spoken. My only slight niggle was that you had to pay for the WiFi and it was only available in the lobby.

What a change to find a hotel that hasn't had all its character and heart removed to suit this sometimes all too modern world. I did choose a bigger size room and was on demi pension which was good value considering it was high season. Huge pool, plenty of sun longers, 2 underused tennis courts, attractive grounds. The rooms are pretty tired but everything worked and was clean. Staff from receptionist through to the gardien with thuggy dog were excellent and I felt made so welcome. Dinner was fine with a cheerful waiter who was genuinely friendly and obviously loved his job and clients. Breakfast is pretty good, taken on the terrace. Best to arm yourself with insect repellant. Wi Fi is available but only in environs of reception but who cares when in near paradise. Keep up the good work!

The owner manager gave us a warm, personal welcome. I felt that her good taste was reflected in the attractive decor, in the hotel.
We were upgraded from `standard` to `classic` room, which was fairly small, but comfortable.
Buffet breakfast provided a good selection and dinner by the pool was enjoyable.
The location is conveniently situated for visits to Arles, Avignon,Uzes (and Pont du Gard) and the Alpilles (National Park}
