“friendly and comfortable”
Reviewed 14 September 2013

It was pouring rain and Labour Day weekend and we really needed a place to stay after driving all the way from Gros Morne. The lady at the desk gave us a room with an outside entrance and was so kind to offer a discount (I was just a little bit away from the official senior discount!). The room had 2 double beds, comfortable (with my favorite - lots of pillows). The bathroom was clean and the water pressure and hot water were great (and very welcomed after days of camping). The television and wifi worked well. The meals (we had dinner and then breakfast) were generous, basic and well-made. It's a bit old-fashioned, sort of 50's style. Staff is friendly and the place is comfortable, safe and a decent value.

My husband who is a Newfoundlander (South Coast, Fortune Bay area), always wanted to travel up the Northern Pennisula of Nfld. We had travelled up as far as Daniel's Harbour on a previous trip but this time he wanted to visit, St. Anthony and L'Anse aux Meadows. We travelled with his sister and her husband (4 of us) who had not been there before. The trip was amazing, the scenery, saw 4 moose on this trip. The hotel was nice and clean with an efficency unit (saved $ instead of eating out). Staff were excellent, nice and friendly, even let me use the office computer when the guest computer died in the front lobby. All in all we had a wonderful time...

We enjoyed a lovely dinner here in July .... it was a cold and rainy day so it was so nice to warm up and relax to a tasty dinner. We were traveling with two families and they catered nicely to our kids. The staff was very friendly.

The room was really clean so was the hotel. The staff are super friendly and the housekeepers that were working today(Sept 2nd) are amazing. They started up a conversation with a complete stranger and that makes me feel the Newfoundlanders are still great people. The only reason why I gave it a 4/5 is because there are no refrigerators in the rooms.

We were on a bus tour of Newfoundland and Labrador this summer and stayed in several different motels. The Haven Inn was my favourite. The rooms were clean, spacious, and comfortable. Our room had a microwave and small fridge. The food served in the attached restaurant was very tasty and the staff was very friendly. Check out this good motel if you are travelling in the area.

Booked a stay at this motel for family get together.
The motel itself is centrally located next to the mall - good location.
Room was relatively spacious and bathroom was clean and seemed to be newly renovated.
Front desk staff was friendly and accommodating.

The restaurant:
If you're looking for fresh seafood, this isn't the place to find it. We asked the waitress if the seafood was fresh and she was honest enough to admit that it was frozen.
All while we were looking at the ocean, puzzled as to why a restaurant in this area of Canada would serve customers FROZEN fish.
If that wasn't bad enough, we were also surprised and irritated to see we had been served canned mushrooms with one of our dishes. Totally unacceptable.
The wait time was also very long and really, the food is definitely not worth the wait.

I would recommend the motel but not the restaurant.

The hotel was booked with a tour bus so they put us in one of their efficiency rooms with a kitchen. Was spacious, clean and the only thing I would have liked would have been queen beds. Location was fine and the rates reasonable...
