Tronco Bay Inn Resort
Ranked #14 of 15 Troncones B&B and Inns

We had a wonderful stay at Tronco Bay Inn! The staff is wonderful, especially Tello who runs the restaurant 6 days a week 8am-9pm. His kindness and humor made our stay lots of fun! The food was great, the rooms were very nice. And of course the beach was perfect! This is definitely the best beach location. You can swim and boogie board right out front of the hotel. We even lucked out and got to help release the newly hatched baby turtles out to sea! Our party was 4 women and 3 young children and we always felt safe. We were able to get a mini fridge in our room which was great for storing the kids snacks, water, and beer. The beds and pillows are not really comfortable, but that's typical in Mexico. We rented a car which I would recommend since it is 3km into Troncones. We also did some daytrips to Saladitas for surfing and Isla Ixtapa for snorkeling. One of my daughters favorite parts of the trip was the sunset horseback rides we did a couple times. Part of the time we were the only guests in the hotel.

What a great little hotel. There are only 12 rooms - all with air conditioning. Each room is large and has a TV (although we didn't use it) and a king size bed. While this may not be the most luxurious place to stay but the smallness, the comfort and the friendliness of everyone made it a great place to stay. There is a private little restaurant right there next to the beach and pool. The food and service were all excellent to go along with the excellent prices. There were eight of us staying there and there were some days when we were the only ones there. If you are looking for a small and private out-of-the-way place -- this is the one!

This is the 2nd time I've stayed at Tronco Bay Inn. First time was in May with a friend.

I had room 6 and she had room 5. Both are non-view rooms. Each room was large (6 was above 5). Each had king beds. Each had large verandas.

This last time, I stayed in room 9 which had a double bed (FYI). But still nice. I would say that my favorite non-view room was #5 because there is a hammock strung out in front of the sitting area.

The staff here is lovely. Esteban is one of the waiters and is a great guy. The food is good....and frankly, it's the best deal for the price. I echo other reviews of the fish tacos. They are great.

I have stayed in several B&Bs and houses in Troncones and I do think that Tronco Bay Inn is a great value. For $80 you have A/C and access to a pool and restaurant on the property. There are other places that cheap but have no pool. I like having a pool available (I am not a strong ocean swimmer).

We recently spent three nights in Troncones and decided to stay stay at the Tronco Bay Inn. We simply walked to the reception desk and asked if they had a room. It is a beautiful place that cost - $80 per night for a room with a partial view and $95/night for a room with a full view (off season). Tronco Bay sat right on the beach and had beach chairs and tables on the beach to sit at while eating your freshly made breakfast/lunch or dinner. There is no "bad room" at Tronco Bay. It had a swimming pool and restaurant and like every place served beverages. Rooms were air conditioned. The staff was incredibly friendly, bi-lingual and helpful in every respect. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay again. We found it to be the nicest Inn in Troncones and we looked at many as we drove or walked from Inn to Inn.

Beautiful and clean property and rooms. Located directly on the beach with a sweet little pool. The food was great. The chef served us up some delicious marlin tacos. The staff was friendly, helpful, and always available.

We were lucky to get a room here. We had to leave another hotel that was just terrible, and were elated to land here. The hotel is located on a beautiful bay lined with several bungalows and hotels. Easy to stroll down to other sites for meals.

Troncones is a sleepy little town with dirt roads. The pace is slow and mellow. But the accomodations and restaurants are excellent. Just what we were looking for.

We stayed at the Tronco Bay Inn in January of 2007 for 10 days. It was our 5th trip to Troncones, and having stayed in 4 other places, we found the Tronco Bay Inn to have a GREAT value. Air conditioning, a TV (if you like them on vacation!), very clean and well maintained rooms. The restaurant was great - the prawns were incredible.

The service was very nice. Always a smile. Spanish is predominantly spoken there more than Eden, the Inn at Manzanillo, or La Posada, but we found it very nice to be more involved in the culture, and to try and speak more Spanish!

Thank you to the crew at the Tronco Bay Inn!

We stayed here our first 3 nights and did nothing but eat, sleep, and read. We were 2 of 3 guests there. The staff was really nice--especially Esteban. I speak Spanish, but if you didn't it may be a bit of a challenge. The restuarant was very good--the ceviche is a must! One thing that was very impressive is that they take in sea turtles in the area. At the time they were caring for recently hatched giant sea turtles for a few days for release and 2 other sets of laid eggs so the dogs and ants didn't get to them. They actually got us up to let us know that a turtle was laying eggs...it was an amazing sight! The bungalows are very nice and have AC--a definite plus.

The only bummer was that the beds weren't that comfortable.

We loved it because it was the low season and there was no one around...it was perfect for us.

The ocean out front is rough, but luckily there aren't many rocks directly in front, as there are elsewhere in the area. The ocean overall in the area isn't good for swimming unless you're a great surfer you'd be better just wading. It's gorgeous, but just rough.
