“Nice Bed and Breakfast in Troncones, Mexico by Zihuatanejo”
Reviewed 3 July 2009

This is a really nice Bed and Breakfast right on the Beach in Troncones about 30 miles North of the Airport in Zihuatanejo. The home is really a unique design with great landscaping. The host couple are really nice and the hostess is a great cook. They will also help you with all your needs while you are there. Joel Sinor

Casa Las Piedras is a beautifully designed home, decorated in local art from Mexico. The staff, a lovely family, takes great care to ensure that your stay is comfortable and at very high standards. Breakfast is served at a large dining table where the ocean practically meets the front garden. Listen to the chirp of geckos and the waves break as you sleep soundly in comfortable beds and lovely rooms. Meals are availabel upon request from Anai, who is an exellent cook and host. You will not be disappointed with your stay in Troncones Mexico, at Casa Las Piedras.
Travel Tips: Fly into Ixtapa and rent a car or take a 45 minute cab ride to Troncones. Great food and beautiful beaches await, without the feel of a big tourist city.

This was my fourth visit to Troncones to attend a yoga retreat. This year a few friends and I decided to come in a few days early and stay here. It was beautiful. The rooms are fantastic, all facing the ocean. It had the feel of a truly elegant, casual beach house with a wonderful staff and breakfast. Just relaxing, walking on the beach and watching the gorgeous sunsets from the deck outside the house was just what we needed! My favorite was the feeling of the pool in the living room. The house is beautifully designed and decorated. Really felt like a home away from home.

This is our fourth year back at Casa Las Piedras. It's an intimate B&B on the beach. Only four rooms makes for a relaxing stay by the lovely infinity pool or on the long beaches of Troncones. The hosts Anai and Jorge are delightful and very helpful. Anai's breakfasts last all day, and at sunset there is an interesting variety of restaurants to choose from just a short walk along the beach.
We go there to surf and relax. Fantastic!

We had a great time with the children. The pool is near the living room, so we could watch them easily from there. The beach was great, the children loved the rocks where they found little fishes, crabs and other animals. Very comfortable, and beautiful!!

  • Liked — the house distribution
  • Disliked — That they didn´t have service for lunch and dinner.

My daughter and I stayed at Casa Piedras this past July- Casa Piedras surpassed our wildest imagination in every respect. With panoramic vistas of the ocean from each of its rooms, the tasteful villa is open to lush gardens and appointed with colorful local art .

As magnificent as the surroundings were, by far the most memorable part of the trip was the genuine hospitality of the staff and management.

We were treated to unsurpassed, fresh local cuisine which was always presented with great style.

Casa Piedras is perfection!!!!!

My visit with girlfriends to Casa Las Piedras was an absolute dream. We booked the entire home and were able to enjoy every comfort the beautiful villa offered. High on the list of favorites are the breathtaking views from every vantage point -- from the yoga/meditation pavillion perched just above the surf, from the comfortable overstuffed sofa that overlooks the tranquil infinity pool and the lush gardens beyond, and best of all, the outdoor shower that combines privacy with an unexpected vast openness. The rooms were all very comfortable and there was plenty of space for both congregating with friends and reading a book in peace.

Another must-mention is Anai, the house manager and chef par excelence! Anai prepared traditional Mexican meals for us daily and each dining experience surpassed the one before. Fresh fruits and juices abounded, many from the villa's own gardens, which are expertly maintained by Anai and her husband, Jorge. Anai's guacamole, salsa fresca and fish tacos are incomparable. And everything is served with a beautiful smile and a warm graciousness that demonstrates Anai's love for Casa Las Piedras and its guests. As an additional bonus, Anai functions as an expert concierge -- she arranged myriad activities for us from horseback riding (horses were brought to the beach just outside the garden) to manicures, hair braiding, meals in local restaurants, kayaking and hiking guided adventures, and a day long outing to Zihjatanejo (spelling??). Having a local resident make these arrangements assured that everything went smoothly and we were able to enjoy our activities without the stress of organizing everything.

A note to summer travelers: come prepared with mosquito repellent and soothing after-bite lotions to apply for those pesky insects that penetrate the deet barrier! The weather was humid and hot, so we spent most of the time in bathing suits, dipping in and out of the pool often to cool off.
