If you are looking for big time nightlife, and the Four Seasons accomadations this is not the place for you.however if you are looking to get away , totally chill, with clean accomadations ,Waves breaking on rocks 200 yards from your room, great views of the bay this is it.We had 5 guys that basically had the place to ourselves. We surfed most of the day and took it easy most of the evening.Farar and his staff are terriffic. They were very accomadating, and always there to help. The food was terriffic, and the rooms were simple but nice, more importantly they all have air conditioning.Casa Manzanillo sits at the highest point on the bay and the views from the second floor where the bar and deck are located are tremendous, not to mention you are in the best spot for the sunsets. It also has a fantastic pool that looks over the entire bay.The bar at the hotel is always open and the great thing about CM is they have wifi.As far as surfing,if you don't want to surf the point break out in the bay there are plenty of options that are not far at all either by boat that the hotel will set up or you can drive.highly Recomend Casa Manzanillo.

After reading some reviews here we decided to stay at casa manzanillo on our recent trip, and we are very glad we did. the location is the best in Troncones. at the end of the bay with a great view and away from the rest of the hotels. very private yet not far away. wake up and check the surf in the bay, then decide where to go surfing, if that's your thing. very nice grounds and very clean and comfortable. the pool is great, perfect for a dip after surfing or just to lounge around all day. they serve breakfast and lunch which is just right. when we ere there, they did not serve dinner, there was bar service on weekends with pizza on the menu. i guess some years they do dinner every day but i'm glad they didn't during our stay. you might have to take a little stroll to get dinner, but then again you don't have a bunch of other people rolling up in the evening to eat and make noise. no dinner service means much more chill and less people around. i'm sure some might prefer otherwise though. the manager is very easy going and accommodating, took me to a nice little spot for a surf. he's a good guy and makes sure your stay is a good one. killer sunsets. nice animals hanging around. safe spot where you don't have to worry. the only thing i would have liked would be a laminated list of recommended places to eat and other information in the room. it's always a nice thing to have. we are very happy we chose the Casa Manzanillo and will stay again when we return. for us, no need to look around for another option, this place was perfect.

My wife and I (in our early 40's) stayed for 4 nights at the end of January.

Fantastic stay at a great place. We had the ocean room, and then the jungle room. Both have great views with patios overlooking the bay. All the rooms, for that matter, would have great views as you are right on the water. Very quiet during our stay (which we like, as we are not 'nightlife' kind of people). Very clean and well kept grounds.

Good breakfast (cereal, toast, fresh fruit, eggs to order, bacon, beans, tortillas, etc..) with a great view from the kitchen/eating patio of Manzanillo bay. Two friendly cats and a dog to keep you company if they are not sleeping. Easy walk (1 minute) to Manzanillo bay for great swimming, boogie boarding. Bikes to use to get to 'town' if you want.

Farrar, the on site manager, was incredibly helpful in getting surfboard rentals, offering advice, and really anything that we needed or had questions about. He was even gracious enough to take me along to some local surfbreaks during my stay. Honor system for drinks/beers, filtered water for guests........what more could you want?

We would definitely go back (and hope to do so next year)!

What a wonderful place. Great clean rooms. Hammocks everywhere. No TVs. Best sunsets. The staff was so helpful and friendly. The manager even helped pull my car out of the sand when I got it stuck on the beach (don't drive a two-wheel drive car on the beach). AMAZING surfing. Amazing swimming. It was just the perfect place and we have the perfect vacation. Would highly recommend.

We lived in Morelia, Michoican 2006-2007 and drove four hours to Troncones 4 times with our two dogs.
Picked Troncones because of all the dog friendly places to stay. Love the area, Manzanillo Beach, and the places to stay. 35 mins away from Ixtapa if you desire glitter, night life and Cancun atmosphere.

Stayed at both Casa Manzanillo and The Inn at Manzanillo Bay. Both great places to kick back and relax. Staffs are super accomodating.

Good place to explore the beach, read, sleep to the sound of crashing waves, eat drink, sleep some more.

I prefer the food at the Inn as Casa a bit pricey, but food at both places excellent. Inn makes die for Bar-B Q ribs. Breakfast comes with at Casa and is good. Plenty of other good places to eat on the strip. Nothing fancy but great sea food and local dishes., we could bring the dogs everywhere, they just laid down under the table ( no restaurant inspectors) , and there are friendly beach dogs that come up to your table.

Casa has their own cat and dogs that roam the premises.

Casa has air conditioning. Inn doesn't. By May you appreciate a/c. You sleep under mosquitoe netting at the Inn in Palapas (round thatched huts with bath rooms .

Rooms at Casa large especially the bath rooms

I'd go tomorrow if i could take the dogs. We'd spend hours exploring tidal pools and chasing crabs.

Width of beach is 50 yds unlike Cancun and Cozamel. Very gradual slope and sandy all the way. Little undertow.

Yet out on the point one of the best surfing area in the world

Night life consists of going into the town of Troncones and watching night volley ball.

It's a one store, one gas pump fishing village

great place for families and there were plenty of children. No need to speak Spanish as most of staff fluent in English and all of the guests were non Mexican, but from all parts of the world

I took my wife and two small children and stayed there for 4 nights. The pool is easily the best in the Troncones area. The beach right out front with its tide pools created by rock outcroppings is great for kids as well. Overall the experience was fantastic, and I would recommend it to any couple or family looking for a very nice place to stay in the area. Only thing to note is that they do not serve dinner in the off-season (however, they serve breakfast and lunch which were good), so we walked down the beach to other spots for dinner, which was no big deal.
