Casa de La Sirena
Reviewed 22 May 2013

There is no question that Casa De La Sirena is paradise. From the ocean front location, to the sweeping views from every accomodation, the serenity of the garden and yoga platform, to the calm and kindness of the staff. It's a relaxation like no other, to spend time there.
But what's even more important to me, is the spirit of philanthropy and duty to the community the owners feel. They share my philosophy that anytime you travel you are recieving a gift from every person in that community. They are opening their doors to you and you are their guest.
Trocones is such a warm, friendly, comfortable town. With this gift, of sharing their home with us, it is our duty to do what we can to help them, to repay them for their kindness. Casa de la Sirena makes giving back a priority.
They run a scholarship and mentorship program for girls in the community, so they can finish high schoool and have options to pursue any future they choose.
So when you visit Casa de la Sirena you aren't only getting the most relaxing wonderful time of your life, but you can rest assured that Casa de la Sirena is using their profits where they should, in serving the community you are lucky enough to visit.

Room Tip: There's not a bad room on the compound but my favority is the top minivilla.

First class and affordable. Every single detail of our stay was laid out by the owners in detail through email. The staff goes above and beyond to be helpful. I think staff are valued as employees and are happy in their jobs. The grounds are almost soothing to the soul. I WILL return.

My wife and I drove down from Seattle a few years ago and spent months camping and staying in a great variety of rooms, from $ 16.00 per night to $ 250.00 per night. It was a wonderful and unforgettable road trip. Our favored place by far was Casa de la Sirena, we have returned numerous times since, and have not even considered staying anywhere else in Mexico. The place is always in pristine condition, the landscaping gives it a tropical feel, the pool is crystal clear, the rooms are spotless and the owners are the nicest people. Celia cooks great meals at a great value and serves poolside! The staff is very friendly and always helpful. We stayed for a month this year and had a friend come and visit us for a few days, he was pleasantly surprised and pointed out the fact that the place looked better then on the website, which never happens, so true. Sunsets are amazing every night and we never get tired of watching the pelicans feed right on front of us. We have met wonderful people that are staying there and keep in touch with them. And then of course there is Troncones itself, with a lot of reasonable priced restaurant and excellent food, the fruit truck that comes by three times a week, the seafood truck that shows up every day and, best of all, very friendly locals and gringos. We left a couple of weeks ago and all we can think about is if we can squeeze a trip in March, instead of waiting a whole year to come back.
Pure paradise!

We stayed at Casa De La Serina for a week in January. We stayed in Villa 2 of the mini villas. The grounds and pool were kept immaculate during our stay, the staff was out early every morning making sure the sand was raked, chairs were put into place and pool was clean for the day. Our maid was wonderful, it's like she knew when we were going to leave our room and had it cleaned and tidied without us even knowing. The room had a safe, but we barely used it as we felt comfortable leaving our laptop, cell phones, ect out and never had ANY problems.

We love to cook, and enjoy shopping in the local stores for supplies and also enjoyed the fresh fish truck and fruit and veggie truck that stopped by regularly to sell their supplies. Whenever they were out front Humberto would come by the pool to announce their arrival. The staff truly went out of their way to make everyones stay comfortable.

The compound itself is beautiful. We shared the pool with 4 other suites, but it was never an issue to get a beach chair or pool lounger. We also usually took a glass of wine down to the beach chairs at sunset to watch the sun go down!

We never had the opportunity to meet the owners, but heard nothing but positive things from others staying there. I will say that booking and organizing everything with Debbie via email was a breeze as she made it so easy and was very informative. She had lots of 'tips' on the area and good recommendations for our stay, she even did a follow-up after we arrived home to make sure our stay was everything we expected it to be!!

Overall, this place is great! This was our second visit to Troncones, first time staying in Casa De La Sirena and we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again! I could go on and on, but you'll just have to come here and see for yourselves!!!!!

If you are looking for a vacation where the order of the day is long walks on a secluded beach, basking in the sun or under a palapa reading, napping or simply listening to huge rolling waves that seem to draw you in to their peaceful rhythm, breathtaking sunsets every night, delicious authentic Mexican food and stunning views from your waterfront room then Casa de la Sirena is a perfect place for you. You will not find more caring, thoughtful hosts than Mike and Debbie who will make you want to return again and again and again as we have done for the past 10 years. We have travelled all over the world and keep coming back to the best of the best here in our friendly little village of Tronconnes. It just doesn't get any better than this folks.

Room Tip: Ask for a mini villa on the 2nd or 3rd floor or the larger family villa.

This place is the deal- sweet and wonderful staff, beautiful lodgings and pools, the best sunsets, and overall just an awesome place to land in wonderful Troncones. I have been leading yoga retreats internationally for some time, and renting this place out for a retreat is such a treat. Celia is an amazing cook to hire, and there is plenty to occupy you on the beach. I stayed in the Private Villa this time (this is our second trip there!) and you had to pry me out of there.
I am charmed by the owners and how wonderful and accommodating they are, and hope to return again and again. Pure love!

Room Tip: Upstairs Private Villa or Mini Villa, all the way. Rooms on the street tend to be noisy at night.

My wife and I celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary in Troncones at Casa de La Sirena and what a perfect week it was! We visited during the "rainy" season, which turned out to be a light sprinkle one evening and a grand thunder/lightening storm in the middle of one night. Other than that, it was perfect weather. The room and its view was gorgeous. The only thing between us and the beach was the pool. The on-site manager Humberto is super helpful while basically being invisible. We were the only people in the complex for the first part of the week and it was like our own private paradise. Several beachside restaurants with authentic cuisine are a short walk down the beach and are very accommodating (my wife and I are vegetarians and never had a problem finding a meal). We recommend renting a car as Zihua and Ixtapa are about a 40 minute drive and offer bigger grocery stores and several great activities (try Adventours in Ixtapa... it's a great eco-tour with a bike ride through a rain forest, ocean kayaking, and snorkling led by a biologist/co-founder of El Refugio de Potosí). I hope we're able to visit Troncones many more times and, if we're so lucky, Casa Sirena will be our home base every time.

Room Tip: The third floor of the mini villa has the best view and nobody walking over your heads!
