Offered nice and affordable rooms with a great setup. The restaurant onsite has good pizza and will even deliver food/beverages to your room. If at all possible, try and get one of the rooms on the second level/back of the hostel. These are a little quieter and offer a nicer view. I also enjoyed that this is a little bit further north up the beach so the beach itself isn´t as crowded. A friend highly recommended this place to me and i would do the same.

I hate to write negative reviews but I felt that the staff needs to do something about the noise curfew. We intended to stay for 5 nights and left after 2 because of the noise level of other guests. We stayed in the second part of the hotel, in a room that cost about 30US. We were fine with the price as the room was spacious, clean, had hot water etc..Little did we know the second floor, had a few dormitories where people would party, drink and make noise until 5am each night we were there. Complained to the staff many times and it just kept on getting noiser, as more beer bottles were crashing on the floor. The food from the restaraunt was amazing, a bit more expensive than the local restaurants. There was an amazing vegetarian restaurant around the corner run by a Dutch man who served amazing daily lunches for 12.50. Hostal is near the beach, although the beach is not that clean. There are lots of waves good conditions for surfing though, After two 2 nights we stayed at Sunburst hospedaje more located in the centre that was pure bliss. Quiet, friendly and way cheaper, they even had Satellite tv with English channels! it was the best thing we did. We finally caught up on sleep. All in all, amazing and comfy abode but the noise level is a hit or miss. I wish there was a noise curfew!!!

Room Tip: Choose a different hostal unless they enforce a noise curfew. Check out Sunburst hospedaje situated...

I stayed at Naylamp for 5 nights (1 in a dorm room and 4 in a single room). Both rooms were great value for money, clean and spacious. My single room had amazing views of the ocean, a clean bathroom & good shower. Only complaint about the room was that the cable reception was fuzzy and almost unwatchable. The communal balconies were great for sunset watching and meeting others. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I was initially concerned about the location at the end of the main strip, but discovered the walk was only 5-10 minutes to the centre and the beach out the front of the hostel was nicer as it was less crowded. I'd definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for a few days to surf, which was pretty good. This is one of the better hostels I have stayed at. It was a good value (60 soles for a private room with bathroom and small TV) and they also had dorms rooms and small camping area as well (10 soles/person, you could even rent a tent 13 soles/person). They had a pretty decent restaurant and since the dining options in town were a bit limited (especially after dark, no one seemed to walk around and the town was dead) it was always busy. It wasn't a party hostel at all but there were plenty of table to relax outside with some beers. It is located right across the street from the beach at the northen end of town.

I must say that this hostel is the best in Huanchaco. It provides any service that a backpacker can wish for:

-nice, clean rooms
-wifi/internet (wide area of coverage)
-nice breakfast
-camping site available
-book exchange
-safe place
-luggage storage
etc...

I think it is reasonably priced and has a lot of capacities. The only two drawbacks are that a) Naylamp is not bokeable via commonly known websites like hostelworld.com and that b) the staff is not completely fluent in Englisch (but as a Backpacker in Peru you must be able to cope with both). Therefore, I rate it excellent.

Good for the price. 15 Soles for a dorm bed. Breakfasts are tasty, really good coffee. It's at the far end of town, but Huanchaco is so small that it's walkable to anywhere. Lots of common space and hammocks. Kitchen available for use. Free wi-fi. Be careful not to step on the two resident tortoises! :-)
