The only thing that I can remark is the price (there are cheaper hostels in Huanchaco!) and the location! The hostel is a little far away from the "center" of the village. But its quiet and and clean! Try to get a room on the upper side with view to the ocean!

We stayed here for two nights and were really happy with the quality of the accommodation. Nice rooms, great showers and hammocks in the open yard.
Staff were very friendly and there was a good laundry service and a book exchange.
We didn't have a sea view but as we were right on the beach it didn't matter, a really lovely location.

Room Tip: Ask if you want a sea view because only a few rooms had them.

I enjoyed my time here, though there were almost no other solo travelers-- all couples or families, so I didn't really know or meet anybody at the hostel, unfortunately. So if you're traveling solo, I'd recommend to go somewhere a bit more social.

But the beds were comfy, the central courtyards were absolutely lovely full of hammocks and furniture, and the location's towards the quiet end of Huanchaco.

Oh, it's also kept impeccably clean.

Had great time chilling out in Nayland for 12 days. Met lots of nice people. Very relaxed place. They have a kitchen to use, place for camping, dorms, private rooms. The restaurant is not the best though. Beware of the turtles that will try to sneak into your bedroom anytime you leave the door open. And will probably wake you up when they will have their time... ;-)

This hostal is at the north end of Huanchaco beach - where it is quieter (or almost deadly quiet in low-season). We liked the location (still only a 10-minute-walk towards the center) and the simply furnished but very clean room in the back part of the hostel. The verandas back there are very nice (spectacular sunset!), also the courtyard with hammocks in the front part

We found the staff to be very friendly and helpful - they organized a tour for us, called taxis, let us check in early and check out late. We also liked the breakfast (not included), but well worth the one or two dollars (especially the huge bowl of muesli with yoghurt and fresh fruit).

My 6 month Ecuador visa was expiring so made a run to Peru with four friends who have been to Huanchaco and the Naylamp.

Stayed for five nights in room 18, very happy. Nice place, well managed, friendly, and almost everybody speaks some degree of English, which was helpful as the limited Spanish I picked up in Ecuador doesn't come across all that well here.

My priorities in South American budget hostels/hotels are hot water (preferably not electric) and wifi. Wifi was great at 54 MBPS. Hot water was fine all five days, day and night.

Naylamp offers both camping and private rooms, so you have an interesting mix of backpackers and others.

It is a bit off the beaten path, maybe just over a 5 minute walk from the center of the action. Keep this in mind if you have difficulty walking. I actually prefer the location, nice and quiet.

The front desk is covered until late if you need anything or have a problem. Good restaurant although somewhat limited, mostly pasta/lasagna.

Nice central courtyard with hammocks and two very big and friendly tortoises that love to interact with the guests, good for a photo op.

It can get a little hot in Huanchaco. No air conditioning at this price range (50 Soles, approx. $19.) To cool off, jump in the shower and turn the very good wall-mounted fan on.

Depending on how long you're staying, the price seems to be somewhat negotiable, as there are less (and more) expensive options in the area.

All in all, I really have no issues or complaints, and quite enjoyed my stay herr.

I was going to stay for about 4 days but between the hostel and the vibe of the town I was there for 17 days. I loved it in Huanchaco and this hostel. Clean rooms, hot showers, nice people, good restuarant, super nice staff. I became friends with a lot of the staff during my stay.

The things I didn{t like about it is that while they were cleaning the dorm my stuff got moved. It was put into a neat pile but every tiem I lose something I thoguht it was stolen. It wasnt, I found everything, but the peace of mind was not there because my stuff was being moved. That is my only complaint.

Great value. absolutely.

Dont trust the turtles.

Room Tip: 20 sole dorms are superior by at least 5 soles to the 15 sole dorms. Ocean view and a lot more space...
