We were amazed to learn this bridge in Richmond is the oldest in Australia, so we made a point of walking across it and taking some photos. It reminded us of old bridges in Scotland, indeed, the old churches in Tasmania also look similar to the ones in the UK. Looking at this bridge from the lawn area on the river's edge gives the viewer the full impact of its harmonious architecture. The ducks and geese completed the frame.

The bridge is beautiful and well worth a visit if in the area. The whole town of Richmond is historical and there is some beautiful architecture so take in the entire village as well as the Gaol whilst visiting.

It was very nice to see and walk over the oldest bridge in Australia still in use. Richmond is small and you can walk leisurely through the town. Not much else to see or do in Richmond but the bridge is picturesque and I took a lot of pictures from different angles.

A very nice bridge. Historically significant. But it IS just a bridge. Nice park underneath - so it's a picturesque place for a picnic.
