Located very conveniently to just about anywhere in the area, this hotel offers a clean, quiet, comfortable, well-appointed stay. Very comfortable bed with a supportive but not hard mattress. Wireless internet is reliable and fast.
We were hesitant because of other comments but we were pleasantly surprised how nice the rooms and the staff were. Only downside is beds are high and there are no elevators but rooms were very clean. The pool was nice and was clean. Definitely would stay there again.
If you're looking for a cheap place to stay & don't expect luxury, this is it. Just like any other hotel, if you look for problems, you'll find them no matter if you stay at the Microtel or at the Hyatt. Minor cosmetic issues (bathroom door frame rusty, dings in the walls, small stains on furniture), mediocre breakfast; but it's in a decent area and I feel safe out walking alone. My biggest complaint is that the front desk staff was a little unpleasant (3 different people at the front desk in 3 days & not a single person smiling....barely acknowledged my presence). Close to shopping & restaurants. Will stay again in the future....but only when we're on a tight budget!
I rolled in about midnight and -- let's be honest here -- a bit apprehensive, 'cos night clerks can be less than professional. This one didn't treat me as an interruption, quoted me a good price instantly. The place is large, for a Joplin motel, but very quiet. The beds were new -- the whole place is new! -- and provided excellent back support. A big, gleaming new room. In the morning, the staff was equally brisk and courteous.
The continental breakfast, well, it was a continental breakfast ...
