“Kansas City Highlight”

The Country Club Plaza is a special place any time of year. During the warmer months, it's a pleasure to stroll the streets and take in the views of the amazing architecture and multiple fountains. Many Kansas Citians would never miss a visit to The Plaza during the Christmas season. The holiday lights and atmosphere can't be beat. It's truly an enchanted place at Christmas.

“Outdoor shopping at its finest!”
Reviewed 26 November 2013

This part of KC gives visitor's and local alike the opportunity to stroll through a shopping and eating area like few others in the US. From Putsch's for coffee, to The Cheesecake Factory, to Starker's Reserve, you can eat in any atmosphere you choose. From the local Kansas City Store, to Lucky Jeans, to Saks Fifth, you can shop til you drop and find just about any gift, clothing or other item you're looking for. There's outdoor entertainment to listen to at different locations around the area, too. Some people just come to watch, others to shop, and still others just to dine. What a great area to get to know KC in. This part of town attracts couples on dates, singles out shopping, familys having dinner, friends gathering for a drink, business people for meetings, and teens hanging out. In short, it's for everyone.

“Sets Kansas City apart from other Mid-Western Cities”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

This fabulous shopping district was built during the 1920's, when there was was serious MONEY in Kansas City (KC) to build such a place. It was once full of unique, one-of-a-kind, found no where else shopping. Unfortunatly, over the last decade it is mostly high-end mall stores that have taken over, but a few of the resturants are still unique to KC, as is the architechture of the whole place. And do go during the Month between Thanksgiving & Christmas for the Christmas lights at night - spectacular! The only city with more fountains than Kansas City, Mo is Rome Italy!!

“Hidden Gem in Kansas City”
Reviewed 25 November 2013

The Country Club Plaza was the original "shopping center" in the US! It has been around for about 100 years. Spanish architecture houses almost all of the shops & restaurants in this upscale area. Come visit us between Thanksgiving and mid-January to see all of the buildings outlined in colored lights. It's a spectacular sight! You may also want to ride through the streets in a horse-drawn carriage. Spend the night in one of the lovely hotels that ring the Plaza. That way you can have a night out on the town AND treat yourself to brunch the next morning!

“Great place to shop and have a great lunch or dinner”

I love the Plaza. It is a great place to shop and have a good lunch or dinner. It is especially great from Thanksgiving until the middle of January when it is all decorated with Christmas lights. This time of year is FABULOUS!!
