“So Tranquil”

I happened upon Loose Park while out for a Sunday run. It was easy running distance from Country Club Plaza and very nice to run through and around. It is quite a beautiful oasis in the middle of the city boasting a lake with ducks and geese, romantic bridges, beautiful mature trees and well maintained lawns. There are also play areas for children and a beautiful rose garden.

“Full of life!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 August 2014

My sister and I took our 1-year-old kids to the Sprayground at Loose Park, which is basically where water sprays out of a bunch of places and kids can just run around and get wet! It is SO much fun on a hot day, and our kids LOVED it. The sprayground is next to the tennis courts on the West side of Loose park (it's a BIG park - there is a map online if you go to KC's parks and rec department page).
There were shady places for the parents to sit (if you don't want to get wet, but why wouldn't you?), and a fence around the whole area so the littles can't escape. There were water features for big kids as well as little ones. Our babies just loved the places where the water came out of the ground in a tiny fountain!
There was so much activity happening throughout the park that day - playgrounds full of kids, families having picnics and cookouts, tennis, people walking their dogs - and LOTS of places to sit or lie in the shade and just read a book or relax. I would've liked to spend a leisurely afternoon here and just explore!

“quiet in the city”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2014

I recently visited after being away for several years. The quietness of a city park was amazing. Picnics, football and frisbee games. Pets and children everywhere. Water park, rose garden, playground and pond. A 2 mile walking path that shows the historic war in Westport!

“Beautiful and Relaxing”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 23 July 2014

Loose Park is a very pretty large park. The rolling hills, large trees, rose garden, lake, tennis courts, play ground, and walking/running path around the park all make this a great park. Lots of people come here daily to walk, run, or walk their dog. Plenty of open space to sun bathe, play games, picnic, relax, read, meet others, etc.

“Most scenic park in Kansas City!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 July 2014

As a previous Kansas City resident in the Westport area, I cannot possibly praise this park enough. In the summertime, the rolling hills in the park are a perfect place to relax, read a good book, play an instrument, or just spend time with family and friends. The running/walking trails are also amazing - I love the material they have them paved with, it makes running or walking there just that much nicer. And there are numerous other attractions still within this park - tennis courts (though they are very popular and often full), children's playground areas, and the most beautiful rose garden in Kansas City. For those who love spending time outdoors, this is a must-see in this area!
