“Nice way to spend an hour”

This is in the Federal Reserve building in KC, so security is tight. You have to go through metal detectors and scanners, but is worth it. It is a self guided tour with different points that you can use your cell phone to call in for description of what's going on. There are some things for kids to do, but basically the information is somewhat dry. They can draw their own money and there is a computer to design money and e-mail it so you can print a copy at home. I like history, so looking at the displays and reading about the history of the banking industry was interesting. I think it's a good way to spend an hour and it's free, hard to complain about something that's free.

I had some time to kill so I went by to see the history of money, I liked the museum, got to see a lot of the older money, I got to see the money in the vault being moved around by the robot. I was given a bag of the shredded money to take home.

They got a bag of shredded money when they left. Better than the keys to a kingdom Doesn't take long to do but kept the interest of a 7 yr and 9yr old. Try to it in.

This is a great place for elementary kids and older. It is a fun experience for free! My kids loved trying to lift a bar of gold (in a case) and getting a bag of shredded money at the end.
