“Sharing our Lake History”
Reviewed 1 May 2014

First timers to the Lake from Colorado and we loaded them up and took them to Willmore Lodge. It was a cold/wet weekday afternoon in April and we took our time showing them the architecture of the building, telling them stories about the renovation, and visiting with Karen, the hostess. There's also a mini museum with neat pictures and several interactive displays - and to our surprise a new one since our last visit. (As locals we consider that a real plus - thanks Ameren!) It's a great spot to look out on the Lake, to walk down to the point, and to step back in time.

“Most Amazing Wedding Site EVER!!”
Reviewed 8 March 2014 via mobile

My husband and I had our wedding here last summer. They were VERY accommodating. The price was much better than anywhere else we looked, we felt we got A LOT for our money. Since we weren't from the area the site planner was able to give us names of caterers and florists to help. If you are looking to plan a wedding in the area, you cannot find anything better than Wilmore Lodge!

“Quick History of Lake of the Ozarks”
Reviewed 4 March 2014

This is a perfect place to start a Lake of the Ozarks visit. The lodge building, although not original to the site, is the perfect semi-rustic environment for the exhibits there. Learning how Bagnell Dam was built and the lake formed give you a good overview of the lake and a real appreciation for the scope of the project. I recommend visiting Willmore Lodge to anyone who is visiting the lake for the first time or anyone who has guests. The staff is knowledgeable and friendly, and it doesn't take long to tour the facility, even if you walk down to the lakeside gazebo to enjoy the view there.

Visited today again and each time you can't help but think of all the history that was created by the building of Bagnell dam. It's amazing how Engineers go out survey the lay of the land and can figure where all this water is going to settle. In the lodge this are many interactive historical displays giving the novice and the scholar great amount of written historical accounts, many pictures, and actual artifacts / materials that went into the building of the dam. The building gives great views of the lake and while there today a young lady was planning on having her wedding here. The Lodge can be rented out for almost any occasion. I would recommend the Lodge to be a stop for young and old - there's no charge for visitors. If you feel adventuresome you can even walk down to the lake. Check it out!!

“Historic Lodge now used as Chamber of Commerce visitors center”
Reviewed 14 December 2013

A small museum is there detailing the fascinating history of the Lake of the Ozarks just off the huge, impressive multi-story entrance hall with a beautiful view of the lake of the ozarks. Beautiful restored structure.
