“Great food and scenery”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 June 2013

Pure luck to find this pub and hotel - only down side was had to climb many stairs to bar etc on first floor but it was worth it cos could sit out on the balcony and listen to the sheep and watch the ducks on the lake - lovely. Good idea to have small or standard size meals - great for older people and those with small appetites. Not a huge choice but best chips ever. I only had a cheese, tomato and red onion baguette but delicious. Didn't know it was going to come toasted but made it so much nicer .But £11 for a normal plate of scampi and chips is a bit much!!. Worth a visit though

“Just by chance”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2013

Driving through the Cotswolds blissfully lost and depending on the sat nav we came across this pub and decided to go in for lunch, the landlord explained each of the real ales and offered a sample of each, it was what I would call a real country pub. The food was excellent the welcome second to none and the atmosphere supurb. Will definatley visit again if I can find it.

“Fabulous Slice of Country Life”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 May 2013

The picturesque location was the first sign that this would be a meal to remember. The warm, welcoming atmosphere of the bar and the restaurant, with locals swapping tales and visitors trying the wide variety of beers on tap, struck us as soon as we entered. The menu was just right, and the food lived up to the promise. Very noticeable was the friendliness of the staff - very attentive without being too pushy. We will make this a required stop off whenever we are in the area! Beautiful for a rainy day or a sunny afternoon.

“Great local which never fails to deliver a warm welcome and a cracking pint!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 April 2013 via mobile

I have been coming to the vale of the white horse now since moving to Minety around 3 years ago. The landlord, Jamie Denman keeps a great selection of real ales superbly and the pub is never void of great atmosphere among the many locals that visit frequently. The Stunner from Cotswold Spring Brewery is a firm favourite of mine, but 4 other ales are always on offer. The bar area and separate restaurant offers a wide ranging menu with daily specials (definitely try the pie of the day!.) There is a roaring fire during the winter months and a terrace overlooking the lake for when the sun shines! This is a true local village pub in every sense with friendly and efficient staff. Definitely worth a visit if your in the area.
