Food is great! But the service is standard and not much on atmosphere. Prices are very high because sides are all ala cart even salad.

In case your attention span is limited - THIS PLACE IS SUPERB - GIVE IT A GO!
And now on to the fine detail...
We read the mixed reviews on Tripadvisor and decided the only thing that it's right to do...
to make up our own minds. We arrived early (around 5.00pm) on a Monday evening and the
place was pretty much deserted apart from one other table, and stayed that way throughout
our entire meal. This meant that our waitress - well meaning, good intentioned and cheery as
she was, gave us way too much of her time. We got the impression she was lurking just around
the corner, springing at out every opportunity to anticipate our every whim. Which would have't been nice if she didn't anticipate a whole bunch of needs that we didn't have either! That said, you'd have to give her 10/10 for attempting to please. Now on to the food...Have the onion rings everyone says. But why? Onion rings are, surely, just greasy battered hoops of nothingness to full you up before the real food gets here? Not in this case - they are light, crispy, and seasoned delightfully. For some strange reason they don't allow sharing of a portion, which is a shame as one portion between three would be just about right. It's not the price ($3) which is the issue, it's just the fact that by the time the main courses arrived we were already gorged on these devilishly moorish mouthfuls! We had opted for the $39 "Prix fixe" option which includes onion rings, salad and a filet mignon. The salad was salad, with surprisingly good croutons and bacon bits (real ones, not the abomination you get in a packet, but real fragments of bacon which were soft and flavoursome rather than brittle plastic shrapnel) and then the filet mignon came...good news or bad news? Keep it positive...the steak was meat as good as it gets, cooked exactly the way we ordered it. Tender, flavoursome, seasoned just right, not horribly over seasoned as some steak houses tend to. A little on the small size but the mountain of onion rings had already curbed our appetite so that was no problem. The bad news? Not earthshattering life changing "you've only got three months to live" bad, just vaguely annoying bad...the jacket potato had so obviously been done in the microwave. It should be a federal offence to serve microwaved jacked potatoes in a fine dining establishment, and it's certainly a crime against taste and decency. And also, what's with the strawberry? Chefs around the world please note: A strawberry is not a fiting garnish for any beef dish. So damn well stop doing it or I'll be 'round your house to put a bat up your nightdress toute suite!

We chose this restaurant because we are familiar with it's sister restaurant in Clarinda Iowa and frequent it a lot. Like the Clarinda location, the onion rings are delicious! The food generally good and the service is top notch, but feel as though the atmosphere is lacking. This is a great place to go if you are looking for a quite place to spend the evening and enjoy a nice dinner.

I don't even know where to start with this horrible restaurant. From the hour and a half wait for our food to the waitress telling us we couldnt substiture a reg salad for a wedge salad (when we asked to pay the difference) to us asking if we could turn the blues game on the tv when no one else was upstairs and being told that if we wanted to watch the game we should go to a sports bar...that was just the beginning with the horrible waitress. We asked to speak to the manager about the (chopped steak aka a breadless burger) and the hair in the food. She came up with an attitude and couldn't have possibly been any ruder. We didnt want anything just a simple apology for the waitress speaking to you like that and for the horrible food but no she was more horrible than the waitress. If you have to go to this horrible restaurant at least make sure that Kendra (server ) and Noel the manager arent the ones waiting on you. HORRIFIC
