Melmerby Beach Provincial Park

Beautiful Sandy beach on the Northumberland Strait. Great for walking and in the summer, it's a lovely place to swim. There is a section that has lifeguards and other areas that don't. Lots of free parking, a change house and bathrooms.

This is a little out of the way but definitely worth it. The facilities here are first rate and the drive is paved and easy access to lots of parking. The beach is the typical red sand with small pebbles but no need for water shoes. The water is warm! A warning to check the wind for the day you want to go. It can get quite windy which can interfere with your enjoyment of the lovely beach.

Easy access to the beach via the well-built boardwalks. Bath house was clean and well-lit. Parking Lot was large and well-marked. Easy to find the Lifeguard Stand. Easy to locate the beach from Hwy 104 via govt roadside signs since it doesn't show up on our AAA Maps of the area. Found many fresh seashells due to the heavy surf from the remnants of Hurricane Gaston. Just a great, relaxing trip with wonderful scenery and easy access.

Visited the beach on the 13th August 2016 on a hot Saturday afternoon..! Very well managed beach with Ample parking area, changing rooms, clean washrooms and a low level wooden boardwalk that leads to the sandy shores. Excellent sandy beach with garbage bin on the shore. The Swimming area is large and can accommodate and spread a large number of people without feeling squeezed.

The Best Sandy Beach you can find around.

Visited the park on a hot Sunday afternoon. There is plenty of parking, bathrooms with running water, shower outside, walkways to the beach which is truly worth the drive. The beach is long so lots of room to spread out. Sand in the water with small pebbles, need to watch out if heavy waves for currents when swimming. Great place to bring kids as lifeguards on duty. We arrived just after a lightning show, so beach was closed for 45 minutes for safety sakes. Bring lots of water to drink as was 30 degrees Celsius!
