“Spring at Big Cedar.”
Reviewed 24 April 2014

We have been to Big Cedar several times over the past 15-20 years. We are never disappointed. Even though construction is under way for the new spa & waterfall - the staff makes everything flow perfectly. This is a vacation destination. We are able to park our car and never need to leave the grounds. The shuttle service they provide throughout the resort is always prompt and friendly. The Lady Liberty sunset cruise was a first for us. It was a lovely experience that I highly recommend. The Bent Hook Marina staff is especially helpful & fun. We rented a boat to see Table Rock Lake and were given lots of help and pointers from the staff at the marina. There wasn't a single employee at Big Cedar that we came in contact with that wasn't smiling and helpful. They bend over backward to make sure you are having a wonderful time. We could not be more pleased with our stay and will look forward to returning soon.

Room Tip: We stayed in a private log cabin (559, which had a loft) and enjoyed the peaceful quiet of being nes...

We have stayed at big cedar numerous times. The grounds were just as beautiful as any other time we have stayed. But they charge a $5 fee per day for services like miniature golf, arcade and programs. Usually this is a great deal and have never minded paying it. But this time there were hardly any programs scheduled during our stay. The miniature golf was torn out being replaced. The arcade and lazy river were closed. If all the things that you are charging for are not usable then I don't feel I should have to pay for them.
The room was amazing and clean as always. And the bed was so soft I think they got new ones since our last stay. Even though we were disappointed about nothing bring opened we enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return!

Beware, the deposit is not refundable within 21 days. They were not interested in working with me on this point. It's not a hotel, it's a vacation timeshare.

Found out some friends were staying there, so I booked a room for a single night for my wife and I to spend a day with them. It was only a couple weeks out. However, situations changed, the stop was not going to be possible for us. When I called to cancel my reservation, still a week in advance, I found out they have an archaic policy that made my "deposit" nonrefundable. The deposit happened to be entire cost of the room plus taxes. :(

This was a beautiful resort, and I will return again in the future. Our first room was in the Valley View Lodge, a value room. AVOID THE VALUE ROOMS unless you have very low expectations for room size and quality. Upgraded to the Falls View after one night, and it was like going from a cheap motel to a deluxe Disney resort hotel. It was wonderful! A balcony overlooked the grounds and lake. The grounds were beautiful, lots to see and do. Several pools, a great beach, miles of walking trails. Short drive to Branson. The staff went out of their way to please. The "Cookie Lady" comes by each night with a treat. A resort shuttle will take you around the resort if you're too tired or unable to walk. My wife and I travelled with our two daughters, aged 11 and 16, and we all loved our stay. Lots of things going on at the resort, but many of them require an extra fee. There was construction going on during our stay, but it didn't affect our visit as it was to the Spa and mini-golf course.

We have been to Big Cedar a few times and hope to come again and again. This time we stayed in a two bedroom cabin with our son and daughter-in-law and their two daughters, ages 7 and 3 and everyone had a wonderful time. The cabin was perfect - the only downside was having to leave after 4 days and 3 nights. Think we could have stayed a week. There is so much to do at the resort we did not ever leave. We rented a pontoon boat and saw the beautiful lake and took a carriage ride around the grounds. Don't miss Buzzard Bar - they have wonderful food and great entertainment by Clay Self! The service and food and accommodations could not be any better. This is a FIRST CLASS RESORT!!!!

Room Tip: If you are traveling with family the cabins are perfect!!!

Very large vacation homes and plenty of activities await you here. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The activities for the kids are great as well. The wranglers at the riding stables were awesome with my kids too. During their ride he talked to them the entire time. The area is beautiful and the grounds are lush and well maintained.

Just stayed 3 nights at Big Cedar Devils Pool Cabins. Nice cabin location, quite, close to restaurant, great Ozark setting. Bed comfy, large TV, full kitchen and really nice snacks and beverage's included and in our cabin when we arrived. Couch a bit hard to sit long, dinning chairs not comfortable at all. Actually all the seating need to be replaced. Fireplace was nice and provided for a nice cozy evening inside on a cold night. Expensive to stay and for dinning, but we come annually for a couples only get away. Devils Pool restaurant has great food and great service and atmosphere, but the coffee shop has a $7 cardboard bowl with some eggs, which were cold and probably worth 50 cents. Gift shop had a some nice stuff and we always leave having made a purchase. Internet is slow and goes in and out on occasion. With a little more attention and response to comments on this site from actual guests, it would be one of the best places in the U.S.!!

Room Tip: Private Cabins best
